Mike 45 - 2007-04-25 12:33 PM And just coast half way up the other side right?  That is what I am counting on....NOT!

You will love it.  We are going up early Saturday to ride at least four of the gaps.  If I can ever figure out how to extract the data, I will upload my elevation charts to BT this weekend.

Here is the elevation graph for the Brasstown Balsbuster Century I am doing Saturday.

Nothin' like a 75 mile warmup before you go bike up a mountain. Have fun with that! Foot in mouth

Yeah, it's the flattest ride I'll have this year.  And no, it's never too early for ice cream!

This was a truly happy day for me, probably top 3 days ever.... Summer Solstice 2004 mountain bike ride with the boys:

Solstice ride data (from my GPS): not MY gps, someone else's

Total distance: 32.9 miles
Moving time: 5:38
Stopped time: 2:55
Moving average: 5.8 mph
Total ascent: 5820 ft
Average ascent: 32 ft/min
Max ascent: 131 ft/min
Total descent: 7920 ft
Average descent: 79 ft/min
Max descent: 369 ft/min
Max elevation: 8027 ft
Probably what made it the greatest is... see that last big climb with the hiccup and then final climb?  I was 2nd person to the top after a very very long day.  Women have awsome endurance.

Speaking of suits:

A friend lent me his Garmin Forerunner 205.  I am going to mount it on my aero-bars (Scout, that is a type of handlebar on a bicycle) for my ride Saturday.  I should be able to get some good data to share with all the data junkies out there.

I was out in Denver last week and when we were crossing through one of the gaps on the way to the Continental Divide, my first thought was how much fun it would be to ride it.  Then I thought...no way...I want to run this bad boy.

I plan on doing a run in the gaps one time this summer.  Should be interesting!

Almost.  But then I think about the fact that I will probably be at work until past 8 pm tonight, and I get irritated, and the thought of beer makes me more irritated.

I am going to be camping in June for a week up in north Georgia not too far from the bald.  Maybe to make you guys happy I'll ride Brasstown Bald then run it.
