Morning, Nibbs!

For all my btiching, I can't complain about the coverage of the woman's marathon. (Of course, my family spent the whole 2.5 hours complaining how "boring" it was...along with I assume 90% of America)

And I stayed up late enough to watch Phelps and Torres.

All is good with the world.

Run or ride? What would Nibbs do?

Oh, wait - that's a silly question...none of y'all will ever say run.

Must decide what I'm going to do this afternoon...should probably run, but my new aerobars are so much fun -

Morning / afternoon now I suppose. I watched quite a bit of the women's marathon and enjoyed it thoroughly. What's not to love about fit women kicking in skin tight clothes? I can't think of a single thing...

I enjoy my runs, but riding is definitely more fun.

Well I ended up doing a big lot of nothing. Pumped up my tires for a ride, went back in to get my water bottles, and came back to a flat tire. My 1st! Hooray - at least it happened in my driveway.

So I wrassled with it and got it changed, but by now it's too late and I'm too crabby so I'm taking a mental day.

I had my first flat when I was out on a ride - thankfully someone stopped and rescued me - he changed the tire for me and I was on my way

I had only had my bike a few weeks - ack!

Still only had a flat on my mountain bike and not my road bike... I know it'll happen eventually though.

Howdy peeps!  I ended up going over to a friend's last night and then got home at 1:00 am.  Of course, I had to get up at 7:00 this morning to meet some friends to pre-ride the bike course for a tri in two weeks.  The ride went well, but I got home at 2:30, showered, ate, went grocery shopping, and then took a nap.

I'm still tired, but we aren't doing too much tonight.  Going to see Tropic Thunder.

<-- Swam today.

Now, I'm going to check out the BT Olympics forum. And then I'll go do some work watch the evening coverage of the Olympics.

I have work to do. But the Olympics only come every 4 years!

Gotta set your priorities, right?

Completely agree.  That's why I've been going to bed so late the past week.  It's been worth it.

Good evening, Nibbs.

I am one tired puppy. Was up at 5am to volunteer at the Greenvile Tri this morning after staying up watching the Olympics last night. I got in a nice, fast (for me) 3 hour solo ride and have been playing with the newest member of our family. We adopted an almost 2 year old kitty from the animal shelter yesterday. He looks so much like our 16 year old cat, it is scary. We saw him at Petco on Friday and I just couldn't bear to leave him there. We brought our other cat to the store on Saturday to see how they got along. Lionel growled and hissed, but the new kitty immediately yielded and was not aggressive at all. We are debating his name. His tag said MaxiCat, but I'm not having a cat with a feminine hygiene name. The kids and I like Oliver, but hubby does not. I'll keep ya posted on what the final decision is.

Yeah, I figured that out after I posted it.

The course was very flat.  I'm totally serious this time.  A few rollers but that's it.  Everyone I rode with today said the same thing.  The worst part is having to go over a bridge at mile 8 that has some metal grates.  The grates are a little scary but not too bad.  Just go over straight and don't slow down too much.
