So we have about 11 days left.  How is everyone doing with their running goals?

I shouldn't have any problems finishing up between the rest of the tapering and the marathon next week.  I probably won't have to run after if I don't want to.    Which is good because I'm not sure how painful next Monday will be.

I get to go to Mt Rainier next Sunday-Yay!

A pic from my backpacking trip last April:

I am going to have so much fun! Laughing

I wonder if I will need my snow shoes for this trip.

I would love to go to Mt. Rainier; however, there is a bit of a cost involved with going cross-country, so I won't be going anytime soon. Have fun for me!!

Ran five miles in a row for the first time ever this weekend!  And I am not so sore that I cannot walk today...So I will call it a success!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Congratulations!!

So, I just realized that the 5K I signed up for this coming weekend is on Saturday, not Sunday like I thought. Now, the 12 miler I planned on running on Saturday needs to be changed. I think I might take an hour off of work on Friday morning and run early Friday, but I won't have time for an icebath and refueling like I would want, but that might be my only option.

so, one can read that as meaning you only need 1 hour to run a 12 miler....Laughing

LOL. Don't I wish! It would make scheduling so much easier if I only needed 1 hour, instead of 2:50! I usually wake up early to work out in the mornings, so it would be an hour on top of my usual morning workout and the 45 minutes I usually arrive early for work. (We have parking issues, so I need to get to work early in order to get a parking spot.)

Well, I disappeared for the weekend, but did get my six miler in.  Great running Ghosts and Ghouls.  Now it's time to finish strong!

I went and got chlorinated tonight, but the running gets back in gear tomorrow

Artemis - 2008-10-20 7:33 AM Melissa, the pictures are fantastic! I want to go back to Seattle. I didn't have enough time to do any hiking or anything. I was pretty disappointed about that.

Let me know if you are going to make it this way and maybe we can schedule a day trip.

I'm right on schedule.  Well, not quite, but I am good at kicking it into high gear when the deadline is approaching.

Good morning all. I have been very busy and very sick all at the same time. It has made for crappy training and little sleep. I ran this morning and will log it in a bit. I am having trouble with accessing the spread sheet due to my firewall I think but I will keep trying. I am ahead of what is logged on there so don't panic about me. I will get my goals in for sure.

Hope all is well for everyone.

I'm here, too. And I'm doing well with my goals. Only a few more miles to go, and I'll be done! Yay! that should be about 2 more runs, which looks totally doable. Wow, usually at this point in the month I'm scrambling to get extra workouts in to catch up.

I want pie!  Maybe I can make one and go for a run while it is baking.  Unfortunately, I will not have time or access to the ingredients until Friday.

What type of pie are you thinking of?  I personally have been craving apple crisp..I am not a big crust fan...

Talk of pie is making me drool for Thanksgiving and my Mom's pumpkin pie. Yum! (My Mom usually makes a whole pie for me to keep/eat at my apartment, but I am trying to lose weight, so eating a whole pie by myself probably isn't a good idea.)

I got another 5.5 miles in today, which brings my total to 70 miles/70%. My goal will be finished by the 31st, I swear on my Mom's pumpkin pie!

I have a huge bag of blackberries in the freezer.  A crisp sounds really good-I have never tried one with just berries before.  I do have a good recipe for apple cranberry cobbler.
