Let me introduce myself....my name is Linda.  I am 51 years young (although much older than all the recent birthday folks!).  I love the run challenges since running is one of my favorite things to do.  I had planned to run a marathon on 10/12, but I wasn't well enough  prepared.  I had a terrible month of running in August.  I got back on track with a running challenge in September, but too late for the marathon.  I think I might plan for a spring marathon because I definitely run better in cool weather when the majority of the training would occur.  Today I ran 9 miles.  My legs were killing me because I did a new leg weight workout yesterday with a bodybuilder friend.  This is not a good idea for the day before a long run!

Happy running....(and posting)

Hi Linda! Welcome to the team!

Better run and get a shower.  Have to take Liam to school soon.  Gonna look at the table he busted his head on.  Not happy he split his noggin open at school.  It's a special ed class w/integrated peers.  Shouldn't have tables where kids are crackin heads open.  Of course it could be my kid is a klutzo and it was just a freak accident.  Just want to make sure!  See ya!

I'm trying collard greens as my new veggie of this week. Feeling bold after last week's experiment with regular spinach (as opposed to baby spinach).

I went for a hike this weekend. I'm debating whether or not to count it for this challenge. I'm pretty far behind in the challenge right now, so maybe I should count it, but the challenge is really for running and I'm already counting my creak-out-of-bed-after-hike walk the next morning.

Nice! I'm going backpacking for 4 days in 2 weeks, and I'm super excited about it. I'm going for 3 days in November as well. One of my life-long goals is to someday through-hike the AT. Bad thing is that it takes about 6 months to do it, but that would be one hell of an adventure.

It's COLD here this morning!!!  It's in the high 30's.  I don't do well in cold weather.  It was all I could do to get out of bed.  It's only going to get colder.

I'm right there with you. I hate the cold weather as well.

Now all I need are new running tights. I want to get them cycling style so I can use them for both.

I'm actually looking for some of those as well. I'm still running in shorts at the moment though.

I am freezing here in my office, though. My feet are so cold. I'm going to have to get some booties or something.

I like booties... mostly of the plump round variety.

Not a big fan of the the collard greens. They're actually one of the few veggies I dislike.
