Morning Nibbleteers

What's on board for everyone's weekend?

I just got back from a long run, did a bit of it with C.  Still wound up dropping her   I try to keep slowing down for her but she just stops along the way cause she starts off too fast.

Once my bfast digests a bit I am going to head out for a run.    I hope that C doesn't get too discouraged.  It took quite a while for me to get to the point that running wasn't something I avoided.

I feel like I have the wrong avatar for Nibbs, but I really like my black cat running. Hopefully that will be me one day.

Working all weekend, but planning on doing a little dreadmill running tonight and tomorrow some trainer. We got the Wii Fit for xmas, so I think we will do some fun activity on that tonight also.

Thanks, I think she just needs to find her internal pace which is something you can't train, you just sort of feel.  I know when I did track in HS I was NOT a runner cause I had no sense of pace.  (I did shot put, discus and mile walk).  I didn't really run until a few years ago when I started off slow on a treadmill and built distance then time.

I have blisters on both feet from the ball of the foot to the instep.  ARGH!  These are new shoes with about 20 miles on them.  I have determined they stink for long runs but am reluctant to put more $$ into a new pair just 2 weeks after buying these.

Sorry to hear about hte blisters. New shoes can be a pain to break in, and just when they feel great, it's time for a new pair.

Oh man Judi am I sorry about your blisters. Maybe you can relegate those to walking shoes.

Any chance you could still take them back?

Don't know, I have to call the store. Might give them to C and buy another pair for myself if he doesn't let me take them in to exchange them.

Hi Nibbs...I stayed at my mates place after riding yesterday...was going to ride this morning but slept in..whoops!

My legs are protesting this riding thing though...just a few achy bits when climbing stairs
(nothing major) and a lack of zip in my legs...thinking a day off or at least a day where Im not riding could be a good idea???? Not sure...

I could always swim....

Yes Cat, You could always swim

They suggested I get body glide for my feet cause the shoes were fine in erms of fit.  Seems I ovecorrected the heel strike and now I land too much on the forefoot.  They didn't have any body glide either.   Grr...now I have to hunt it down but at least I didn't have to shell out $$ for more new shoes

Signed up to run a 5K on Valentines day. I think I'm crazy. I was telling Frank that I wanted to go out dancing that night. Wonder if I'll be able to now. I'm only up to running a mile right now, but I figure that if I can't run the whole 5K by Feb 14, then I should be good for doing the run walk.

Now I have a goal to work towards. Run the whole 5 K.

If you click on a after picture you will see more pictures taken from different angles(even the inside of the closet).  There are no places where I stashed "stuff"  Everything is organized and all the clothes are folded.  the red blob on my bed is Dave's Mg frame and the heap of stuff in the corner by the light is the filler packaging I have collected for when I ship the bike.

The box on the floor has some baking stuff that I need to find a place in the kitchen for and a bag stuffed full of other bags.  I hung up my mirror on the first nail I have put in a wall.  I have a few more pictures and such that I would like to hang, but I am not sure where yet.  The walls are painted 'Spring Green', kind of like the crayola crayon, so a lot of my pictures, posters, etc clash.

That is awesome.

I just got out my bipolar workbook, my adult ADHD workbook, Surviving Manic Depression and Driven to Distraction (about ADHD-kids and adults)

I've been wanting to find a few of the charts that I have used in the past.  If I come up with them I will send some copies your way.

Ohhh, thank you!

I've read Driven to Distraction and Delivered from Distraction both. I wept at many of the pages, even though they're actually pretty funny in places, because I identified so much, and it was such a huge relief to know why I am the way I am.

I spent years specializing in tutoring and then teaching learning disabled kids--I have a special gift for it--but it never occurred to me that might be because I get how many of them think and learn, and was able to adapt to each one as an individual.
