Someone over in the B2B forum (on the B2B website) was saying that we will be in "slack tide" so not much help. An hour later it will be great for the half folks but possibly not much for us. We'll see though. We have the benefit of salt water and wetsuits already :-) Ugh, darn if you aren't right. The swim description says "incoming tide" with "very fast times", but maybe they didn't update it from last year. Low tide at the inlet is 0659, and Wrightsville Beach is 0629. The low was at least 90 mins earlier the previous two years. I'm not worried about the swim, but I got pretty excited about the prospect of a sub 1 hour swim (the median the past 2 years) which now looks impossible. I wonder how this swim will differ from my previous ones. I am amazingly consistent, with 1:16 in 3 of 4 IM swims, and 1:13 in a known fast swim (LP). Thanks for the update! |
