Swim class at 715- 815PM, then another half hour of one on one instruction to work on my swim strokes and breathing.  Try to get bed early for a quick run before work since tomorrow evening has been preplanned for me.  Hoping to get quick workout in before but doesn't look too promising. Have a great day everyone.


Wow, you should sleep well this evening!
We are still waiting for pics of that new bike.

Just now got the bike pic posted on the profile. Tried to put it on the posting but don't quite have down (the posting thing ) yet. I have my first 5 K this Saturday. 7 weeks from then I have my first Sprint Tri. Double time TRI near Vicksburg MI. Seriously Debating a Make-A -Wish Foundation bike run in July. 300 miles 3 days at 100 miles a day. Other things on my schedule: Shermanator TRI in August and the Oly Tri in Mattoon IL in Sept

Are you all using the training log section of this site? If you aren't, do you know how? It is a fantastic way to keep up with your workouts, chart your progress, etc.

Have not got into the BT training logs yet.  Was not sure I was ready to throw that out to the world. I am just now commenting on this forum after more than a week of following it daily. I am a wide body so my progress is slow but consistent (definitely the tortoise).   As far as mileage (300  3 days @ 100 on a bike) doesn't even worry me as much as the swimming distance of OLY or Half IM. Besides some serious sorebuttitis and that wore out feeling I believe I will thoroughly enjoy the experience.

You can go to the "settings" tool icon, click on the "Training log" tab and set your log to totally private, only viewable by friends, or viewable by everybody. If you have it for only friends, you choose the friends and they can check on you and leave inspires. I have to say, inspires are really really inspiring. You can't underestimate a pat on the back or needed boot in the butt can be.

1) Do not compare your numbers to anyone else's. Be proud in the fact that you are actually out there doing something instead of sitting on the couch eating a bag of chips!

2) Do not underestimate a 300 mile bike ride in 3 days.

Thanks for the advice. I am no pro but have done more than a dozen 60+ miles runs. Yes they weren't century runs back to back but I believe I know more about what I am getting into there than doing a Half Iron Man.

WOW- more than a dozen may make you a pro!
As for the H Ironman, it is indeed always the unknown that is scary vs. the known. However, you'll do fine- your training AND getting lessons!

RE: Logs
It is also very inspiring to go back and see how far you have come.  Like me, when I first started swimming, I didn't even put my head under the water-didn't want to get my hair wet!!  Ha!  It was encouraging to see my progress.  Or, you can look and see when you starting feeling that ache in your quad, or whatever.
