givemashot - 2010-05-10 12:53 AM Yep, even with the TV on to JackA** 2.5 I caught up in a matter of a few minutes. Now to convince the hubby toturn this crap off. I can never unsee what I just saw. Blech.

let me tell you a little story about jackazz.....
hubby was being deployed to Iraq and I flew to Co to see him before he left(involuntary transfer to Ft Carson) So I am thinking we would spend some *time* together but they were not allowed to leave the base and there were 3 other guys in is room...ok get your mind out of the gutter village..... so they thought it would be a great way to spend our last few hours watching this absolute brainyack movie! I was sooooo pizzed! To this day I hate it! They (the guys) thought it was just too funny and couldn't understand why the wives were not happy!
So now every time it comes on my hubby will say ....ohhh hunny come watch! Still don't find it funny after 6 years!
that is a pain when they are getting ready to ship out and can't even spend time alone with a spouse. And then to spend it watching a movie like that, ugh!

X2!!

deehtz - 2010-05-11 7:57 AM Hi everyone!  I have not been working out the last several days.  I have been reclaiming our junk room as a guest room!  Believe me, that has been work if not a workout.  I notice that I actually feel more aches and twinges (especially knees and feet) when I am NOT working out than when I am.

My company arrives tomorrow so who knows what the coming week will bring for workout time!  Just know that my fellow Ghoulie's are not forgotten!  I shall return!  Smile

I, for one, am happy to hear from my fellow gouhlies anytime...I always hope for it to happen frequently, but life happens, so stop by when you can!!

kns57 - 2010-05-11 7:14 PM Busy night at the library, but I see that Ghoulies are still pretty quiet. You know you can stretch and chat at the same time.

Kendra, glad you are busy and open for business.  Our library blew up...actually blew up.  Some type of underground electrical malfunction that sparked and caused an explosion.  So if you ever smell rotten eggs or see smoke, make a run for it.  Unfortunately a beautiful old historic building was badly damaged and our town is minus a library for the near future. Most importantly though, no one was hurt.

!!!!
whoa.  I'm glad everyone is ok.

Well, it looks like I missed evryone.
I'm glad Melindy's in Victoria safely, with her bike byher side (even if it is in pieces at the moment)
Good luck on your race(s) Tom. look out for those ankle biters.
Kendra, I'm glad the library has't gone up in smoke.
I like Kim's advice--very wise. And who is takngyou away from your laptop during the day? Don't they know you need your hourly doe of gouhlie in order to be productive?
Sorry about the yucky day ahead of you, Robin.
Dee, check in when you can, and know we'll be here for you when you do get the time.
I think I saw Bill and donkeyKim in there somewhere, too...but no Queenie, or Ann(e), and it feels like I'm missing someone else...
I haven't checked in on the mentor thread for a while, either.

I have been busy with my kiddos (who are bein hooligans again--they may just send me over the edge into alcoholism one day), and getting ready for my first tri of th year on the 22nd. I took myself to a new massage therapist for the ankle/leg pain I have been strugling with all year, and she sent me to a chiropractor. First time I've gone to one. He also did some accupuncture while I was there. That was another first for me. I went and did one loop of the 2-loop bike course of the tri, and then did the run course last night. Today I went and did a short run at the indoor track at the Olympic Oval (olympic speedskating venue). I felt perfect for most of the run, so I must be doing something right. I am tired now, and a little achy, so I'm gonna head to the jacuzzi tub, then bed. I'll check back in tomorrow.
'Night Gouhlies!

Good morning Ghoulies!

Bail has been paid so I am back. Word to the wise... if you are ever given 1 phone call, don't waste it trying to dial in for a radio contest. I'm just sayin'.

Kidding... I'm just kidding.

Life just had a way of raining on my good time the past couple of days. I'm back now, mostly.

I've got a what-would-you-do scenario for you guys. There's a free Aquathlon on base next month (500 yd swim, 5k run) that I'm interested in doing, but it's only 2 days before my almost-Oly tri. Would you guys do it???

I'm sure it would be a good practice run with a mass start and transition area, but I'm nervous I woundn't be able to hold myself back on a 5k run that close to race day. Any advice is appreciated!

Free?  You betcha I'd do it!  And I wouldn't hold back on that 5k either

Hopefully you can exercise some self control though.  The experience will be worth it.

x2

Thanks guys. You've just enabled convinced me to go for it! It's on my calendar now

I can tell we really had to twist your arm
You notice that it was all guys who said go for it and don't hold back. LOL I say, just have fun. That's why we do this, isn't it? For the Fun?

Yes Kendra And don't worry, with this being only 2 days before a tough race, I will not be going all out. The biggest thing I'm excited for is transition practice in the real world.
Yes, real world is definately different from the practice world. My first race for this season is on June 5th. When we come out of the water we have about a 1/4 mile run with a horrible hill and stairs to manuver before we even hit the transition area. I kept telling myself that I would not do the race again, but my son is doing it as his first tri this year, so I said I would go and do it also. Mind you, he is in shape, I am not. I get to start with the first group (the seasoned triathletes) and he will start in the next group (15 minutes later) with the first timers and my goal is that I finish the bike before he passes me. I know he will fly by me in the run since I'm just a fast walker. LOL

That is so cool!  Enjoy the race!  Well, as much as you can with hills and stairs and all...

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-12 7:55 AM Well it is Wednesday and our son's good buddy is going in to have surgery to remove cancerous material in his knee area.  He is 13 y/o and I guess they call this Soft Tissue Cancer and it is not a good thing.  So far it is just in the knee area and has not spread so we are praying that they get it all and his recovery time is short with the required radiation treatments.  I just shake my head at the thought of that for a 13 y/o having to endure that.  His name is Cory and if you could pray for him as well I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to hear this Bill. Ghoulie vibes going his way.

HI GHOULIES.

BILL.  i'll certainly be mindful of your son's friend.  cancer sucks.  especially when your a kid!

ANN.  coming back to the Village makes things ALLLL BEDDER.  welcome back.

i SO wish i was out enjoying spring.

yesturday i dont think it ever stopped raining.

i did manage to get in a 1 hr spin class.  and today i want to give my new goggles a whirl - they are SO COOL looking - so i'll probably head up to the Y a little later.

w the weather being craptastic, im trying to tackle some indoor/spring cleaning projects....though...id MUCH rather be out riding my bike....

if you dont hear from me for awhile, someone send the search party out, i got swallowed up in my master bedroom.  its a task that i've been dreading.  ive all but avoided that room for months now.

cant say that i have any plans on 'moving back in' anytime soon, but it will be nice to know that its clean behind the door now.

oh.

and yesturday.

i bought a BIG GIRL BED.

its actually the same exact frame of the bed that i bought back in December, only this is a FULL sized.

im anxious to pick it up.  probably tomorrow after spin class.
