Bryan, I'd love to come to the ST party.  My husband and friends are also racing - is everyone welcome?  If so, put me down for 4!  After missing you at Vineman, I'm looking forward to meeting you!

I'd also love to see a BT table at the dinner.  Yea!

OK you IM AZ'ers.  I was out on the bike course and run course today, and I took this picture:

For those who have not been to IM AZ, in the upper left of the picture you will see part of an arch, that is an entrance to Tempe Beach Park, where transition, vendor booths, and other fun stuff goes on.  Just to the left of that will be the finish chute, and you will approach it from the far left (out of the picture).  The street corner this is taken at is the turn around for the bike (and you will first come out of, and go back under, the arch for the bike portion).  More than anything else, the signage is just one more indicator that "It's on!"

Yes, as AZ does not change its clocks with daylight savings, we (AZ) are now two (2) hours behind the east coast (EST) and one (1) hour ahead of Pacific time (CA/WA/OR/NV).

Confusing, is it not?

Thanks for the reminder...  That's one less hour to work with for the west coasters...  I have almost missed registering for events cuz of that.  We were on the same time yesterday when I was thinking through all my planning.

I'm hoping it warms up a bit.  It's been low 50's here the last few days.  I bit chilly on the bike.

I know it's a long ways out, but accuweather has low 70's, 3-13 mph winds, and sunny...  Let's hope it's that nice.  We will see when it gets closer.

When I did IMSG, I had no clue what time zone I was in, and if my Garmin was on California or Utah time.   To top it off, no one else knew the time on the bike!

Suffice to say 'Verify my Garmins are on AZ time' is on my checklist!

Just finished my peak week. Looking forward to tapering, which for me means two weeks of questioning everything that I've done over the past 50 weeks Wink

Good luck to all - all of the hay is now in the barn.

#2 here.

1st was IM France - I am sure the bike course was a little harder there - also looking for a PR (And hoping not to crash this time on the bike).

I will be there along with Patrick (triplebypat) to volunteer and register for next year and we will stop by the shop on Friday.  Sounds great.

Squeezed in a final 10 mile run yesterday and a 40 mile ride on saturday.   From here on out its runs no longer than 5 miles every other day, and a few rides shake down the bike (and new wheels once they get here.)  Maybe get in a few extra swim sessions just to keep the shoulders loose...

but my main goal is not tripping over a curb of catching whatever Hot-Zone virus my kids are carrying.

This whole TV thing is going to be interesting!   We have an appointment with the producers on friday at 2 to do out interview...but I'm not sure how much other camera time is going to be required of us....other than the on course type stuff.   Re-watching the CdA show, it looked like that lady had about 4 minutes of airtime, which probably means they filmed several hours worth.

As is I wasnt nervous enough!

Yea hay is def in the barn at this point, last hard weekend for me. Biked 100 on saturday and ran 20 after and then Sunday ran 11. Figures, I woke up this morning with a sore throat. Gives me more of an excuse to chill for 2 weeks and clear it up. Bike is shipping tomorrow. Crazy.

Per Accuweather (and yes, I'm knocking on wood), raceday's forecasted high is 70 with "brilliant sun" despite a UV index of just 4, and winds out of the E at 1 mph, gusting to 10 mph.

If that were to hold, it could be a very nice day for a swim, bike and run.

Going to go knock on some wood again.

You did a 100 mile bike and 20 mile run on Saturday and then 11 mile run on Sunday? Not being rude, just really curious as to your thought process with that. What is your run mileage per week?

Current water temp at Tempe Town Lake today is 65.  We have another storm coming in from the west, so that will likely stabilize around 65.  It does not appear as though air temps will go up that much in the next 2 weeks, so it looks like the swim will be right about where the water temps are now.

In the Summer I was running 30-40 and probably 50-70 for the Fall. Theres no reasoning really, its my first one so Im just training as much as I can. My body overall feels good so I'm just going with it (no real muscle soreness, minus the sore throat but that should pass in a day or two).

If you have done a few what do you usually do? Ive heard of Saturday long bike and short run followed by Sunday long run? I guess mentally I wanted to know I could bike 100 and do a long run after. And Sunday was for the heck of it.

Dont sweat it man....go with what feels good to you.   People read what other people are doing training wise, and sometimes it makes them a little insecure about their own numbers.  (not completely directing that at the poster asking you)

People tend to think Im crazy for not doing a bunch of long rides, but then are shocked when I say I ran 200 miles for the month.  I do what works and feels best for me.  I like running...I tolerate riding my bike.  :D

Well good to hear your run mileage is up to what it is. That makes me feel a bit better.

It just surprised me to see you doing such a big workout 2 weeks before race day. Actually it would surprise me at any point leading up to the race. And no (to the other poster) I am not insecure about my training at all, just more curious than anything.

Make sure to take care of yourself this week and good luck at the race.
