I remember those days.  I always had plastic bags for the shoes to go into.  No soccer shoes in the car was my rule.  And always lots of towels or blankets to keep the seats dry and clean.  I miss those days, but then again I don't.  I'm enjoying being selfish as I get older. 

I ate girl scout thin mints last night.

I figure they were calorie free since I worked out in the morning

It is pouring here right now. It's pretty windy, too. It is supposed to get worse as the day goes on. I have an appt to get my hair cut at 12:15, other than that I think we're staying in the house today.

Our roof is leaking and our dishwasher died.

Dang!

Oh No!!  And the weather doesn't even sound encouraging for you to go out to eat (to avoid making dirty dishes).  Hope you can get both fixed with no problems.

So what do you do when you're in tornado watch/warning? stay awake all night, or is there some sirens or something to tell you when to duck for cover?

Fortunately, I think we did. The dishwasher will be replaced on Monday. It is a metal roof so there is going to have to be re-flashing or some such thing done. Hopefully we won't have too much rain until we can get it done.

Amy, we have a big giant siren in the valley tthat goes off if there is flooding or tornados or suck. It will scare the bejesus out of you! Otherwise, I just pay attention and go on about the day. (Unless it is really scary weather happening- hail etc.).

The heavy rains have arrived. I was out earlier and the water was high then. I'm pretty sure there will be flooding tonight.

We are all in the house and staying put for the rest of the night!

I talked to my brother today, nothing is broken. His knee got hit with the rim from the tire, his knee cap isn't broken, but his knee is swollen up 4x it's normal size according to him. They can't put him on crutches because his hand is all ripped up. No broken bones, but lots of stitches to put 3 fingers back together.

We are starting to see animals line up 2x2 here, should I be worried? It has rained HARD for the past several hours. Gettysburg is flooding. Lots of streams and creeks are flooding. The ground is just so supersaturated from all the rain we've gotten in March and April it's just running off.

 My in-laws down the road have several inches of rain in their basement. They own the house next to them and that basement is flooding. My husband said you can see the water running down the hill and down their basement steps there is a stream. The water is pretty deep there. They couldn't keep up with pumping it out, they had to call the fire company in to help pump.  The in-laws also own a house in town they rent out, there is over a foot of water in that basement. My husband is scrambling around trying to help everyone. The kids and I are lying in my bed playing games on the DS, my computer, and my phone.

Staying at your hotel probably would have been a good idea. Safe travels to you.
