What kind of stone? Calcium Oxalate? Did it past? You know once you have one stone you are 80% liekly to form another. Has a lot to do with the chemical pH of your body. You know if you want your pee checked out and info.....I am your girl!!!! I did NOT know that. I have no idea as it has not come out yet... at least as far as I know. My doc isn't worried since I am 40 and this is my first. If it pops up again, we will look at it. I was told that if I were to capture the stone in the strainer, I could just drop it down the toilet so I quit straining since I figured we weren't analyzing it. Not worried about it. The pain was short-lived. But if I want my urine checked I will definitely look you up. Drinks with Potassium Citrate (sports drinks and Lemonade) can't hurt to help control reoccuring stones. We are doing a study right now with sports drinks to see the effects of sport drink therapy for reoccurring stone formers. And surprisingly the sport drinks are as effective and the drug therapy of KCitr. So get some lemons and squeeze them into that water bottle and up the diluted gatorade! Interesting... actually... my sports drink volume has dwindled... one, since I was not doing a whole lot there for a while... and two, because I wondered if an increased volume was partially to blame for my stomach ulcers and gastritis. I will do more on that front however... Thanks Cheri! |
