Jimmy!!!! It's almost showtime!

Jamie: Great times for your first race!

Randy: This time I'm sitting next to my video cabinet. I don't watch much (attention span issues), but I do love the 1st season of CSI, Band Of Brothers, Sniper, Wind Talkers, Gran Torino, Jarhead, and of course, all of Lord Of The Rings. Oh! Also all of Friends.

What to watch on the trainer?

The Tudors

Currently watching Spartacus Season 1. A tad bit bloody and nasty for 5 in the morning! But it keeps me awake and has a good story. Bought Seasons 1&2 for 14.99 each at Target.

Catwoman - 2012-05-16 6:44 PM Please check out this video from the Team Red, White and Blue triathlon weekend. Team RWB is an amazing team with a lot of different opportunities to serve and give back to our veterans. Everyone that I've told about the team knows a Vet who could benefit from our program.

What a great idea and organization, Rene!  Such a huge need for this type of re-integration / relationship building.  Sending the link off to several friends today.  Thanks for sharing and volunteering!

Hey everyone -- quick checkin.  I'm sick with some sort of stomach thing, so my mountain trip was a bust -- I drove there, laid in bed, and drove back.  Laying in bed again now.  Ugh.

I hope you all are doing well.

If you're ever feeling tired or down this video will help you put things into perspective again. I was blessed just being a small part of the camp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7V3LkZzp5o&feature=youtu.be(I'm in the video. You can even see a brief glimpse of my tattoo! )

Amazing. It's so good to see our wounded soldiers get the help they need through such programs. Thank you so much for volunteering your time, Rene!

Randy - True Blood (HBO), Shameless (Showtime). The Walking Dead (AMC) and if you are a sucker for martial arts movies check out Chocolate. Running the Sahara

Michael - I hope you feel better soon! Stomach bugs like that really drain the energy!

Rene - Usually whenever I am doing any race ... 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or any Triathlon I pick the ones that have a cause attached to it. Most of the races I go to are for the Wounded Warrior project. I think if I spend money on a race entry fee it might as well go to a good cause.

Jami/Jason-thanks for the suggestions.  Anyone else?

If you like stupid comedies try "Nacho Libre". I don't know why, but I find that movie hilarious - and I don't generally like stupid comedies.

I finished watching "Weight of the Nation" yesterday.  It's a 4+ hour documentary about obesity in the U.S. I streamed it from the HBO website (http://theweightofthenation.hbo.com/).  From your avatar it doesn't look like obesity is a problem - but it's still motivating.

Have you ever watched the original BBC version of "The Office"? Once you get used to the accents it's wickedly funny.

Things to watch:

Best stupid comedies: Talledega Nights, Blue Streak

TV shows: Futurama, True Blood,

Action/Suspense: Lock, stock and two smoking barrels, LA Confidential, The Usual Suspects

Most of what I watch now is more sci/fi stuff, but these are some of my favorites. Oh, and sports movies, including Field of Dreams, The Sandlot, For the Love of the Game, Miracle, Cool Runnings.

Thanks to everyone for the continued suggestions for trainer entertainment. Several that were mentioned I have seen before but may watch again now that I remember them.

Jamie-enjoy the wetsuit.  Even my swimming sucks less with a wetsuit

OK....I know we have some in the group racing this weekend.  JimmyB-IMTX; Michael/d3term1ned-olympic distance race? Anyone else?

I talked to Cyclops three times today trying to get a problem with my power meter resolved. We were able to fix the problem and now things are back to normal.

While talking to the tech guy at cyclops the topic of things to watch on the trainer came up. He suggested the HBO series Wire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wire_%28season_1%29

This may be my next series when Spartacus is over!

+1 The Wire, also Shameless on Showtime. They're both gritty and realistic, love 'em.

Jim,

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck at IM Texas. I have to admit that I am jealous that you are doing your IM in two days and I still have about six months left.

Have a great race!

Busy day for me.  Bike, run and swim workouts all on the schedule.  Got them all in by 9:00am so I could get on the road to Chattanooga.  Son is graduating HS from McCallie School where he has been a boarding student on an academic scholarship for the last 4 years.  Busy weekend of activities before heading home Sunday afternoon so daughter can be back at school on Monday.  Hard to believe his time in Chattanooga is done.  Still remember going for a run with him the morning we dropped off to begin his freshman year..  Looking forward to another run in the morning before the weekend's events begin.

Good luck to our racers this weekend.  Looking forward to following JimmyB's progress through IMTX tomorrow.

Hey everyone.  I'm looking forward to following Jim today!

Quote from my blog:  "I've spent a good deal of time in doctors' offices the past 36 hours.  They've ruled out a bunch of stuff (including colon cancer, thankfully), but can't figure out what is causing my abdominal pain, which is pretty bad, still.  I've basically stopped eating (race weight here I come!) and that has helped.  I go to a specialist later today.  Not the greatest way to launch IM training, but it is what it is."

Michael-UGH!  That does not sound good.  Hope you can recover quickly and find out what's going on.

Beautiful morning here in Chattanooga.  Did a 7 mile run with some intervals along the Riverwalk...happens to also be the run course for the Chattanooga Olympic race in July.

In addition to following Jimmy I'm following one of the coaches in my group at IMTX.  He qualified for Kona there last year and hoping to do the same this year.  Hope everyone there has a great day and the weather is tolerable.

Randy
