does anyone know along the centennial trail where I could stop to fill up with water? I only have my aero bottle between the bars and the seat tube water bottle. I'm not really looking to get something to hold water on the back of the seat either.  But it seems that I run out of water after about 2.5 hours into my ride so just wondering if there was a place along the way that I missed when I was riding on Sunday to stateline.

There is a water pump near the restrooms about 200yards east of where you cross the bridge over the river at the state line.  I don't know if they lock it down over the winter, but I would think it should be working now - though I haven't tried it yet.

Greetings fellow IMCDA peeps!

Your training is impressive and I am inspired!

So I would like some feedback or suggestions:

May 18 there is a HITS triathlon fairly close to me and I signed up for the full aquabike (2.4, 112) thinking it would be a good training day, plus I have a five hour bike scheduled for that week so figured it would count towards that.
Anywho, two friends suggested I do the half IM ditance instead.

Thoughts?

Happy training, dreaming of blue skies and water in the low 60's on race day

I'm driving over to Grand Junction for HITS. I'm doing the Half as it's a good dress rehearsal. Plus it's really good timing from IMCDA. I'd suggest you do the Half too.

Anybody else doing HITS?

You folks are amazing.  To have kids, family, and other obligations while still getting that amount of workouts in is truely amazing.  I need to pick it up and quit thinking everyone else has it so easy.  LOL.

I agree the start of Boise was nuts.  It was the first time I thought getting into 56-57 degree water was wonderful and warm.  My feet were frozen till mile one of the run.  I hit T2 and couldn't feel my hands or feet.  It was also crazy to finish that race and it was really great outside.  Almost hot.  Idaho reminds me of Michigan in those respects.  It's the only other state where I've heard: "If you don't like the weather.  Just wait a minute."

Keep up the great work folks.  Only a handful of weeks left and then the season starts and everyone will be outside getting ready for CDa.

That is great to know. I stopped right at the bridge but now that I know that I can stop there and fill up with water for the ride bike.  Thanks for the information.

In a couple of weeks hopefully I'll be able to get over to CDA to ride the course.  What is everyone's schedule looking like to do something like that?

If it's during the weekend I am free the next 3 after this upcoming one.  Otherwise it would be a late afternoon ride for me, say 430 ish, either way I would be up for it.

There is one at the bathroom @ Argonne, one at the parking garage by Sullivan road, both are not turned on yet.

We could try for something either the weekend before the 27th coming up or the weekend after the 27th. I am doing a 5 mile race with my sister. going to help her through it since she has lost 80lbs over the last year or so.

Am I reading this right that you are saying either the 20th/21st or the 4/5th?  I can do the 20th/21st, working the 4th/5th.

My coach is local to me (Denver area) and won her AG at CDA last year.  Not only is she telling me how far to ride, but she's telling me exactly where to ride.  *gulp*

Saturday I get to ride 55-65 miles, working in Deer Creek Canyon and High Grade.  http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/188492216

I'm skeered.  But I know after doing this a few times, I'll be more tha nraedy for St George and CDA.

That looks like a gnarly ride. I'm schedule for a 4 hour ride tomorrow no planned distance just time. Are you riding solo or in a group?

My coach is also local he is a stud he races for the Navy Tri team and goes to Kona most years. His wife is also a stud she won her AG in Kona last year.

If you are going to do that ride again in the future and would like some company and my coach gives me the green light, I'd like to go with you. I live in Broomfield.

Hey Brad - I'm in Parker but I ride all over.  I imagine that sometime in the very near future, I'll be doing a Boulder ride, with some out and backs to Jamestown (and maybe to Ward, we shall see how brave I feel).  I'll send you a message when we do something in your area.

I'm doing the Deer Creek thing solo tomorrow, mainly because I don't want to put any pressure on myself.  I just want to ride at my own (slow) pace and not feel like I have to keep up with anyone.  I normally ride with my club friends who are also doing CDA - I'm with Altitude Multisport.

Ugh, my training is taking a beating this week.  Been at work since 6am, leaving at some undetermined time, midnight maybe?  Working all weekend, 7am-some stupid late time.  Rough when it's fairly big mileage.

I hear you there. Once a month I have to work late and it messes with my training for the whole week. Sounds like yours is ten times worse than mine though for this week.
