Fast and short tonight.  I could have went further but didn't eat right (enough) and pooped out at end.  About 1:30 off my long run pace. Still 12:47 but greased lightning for me.  The work is starting to pay off.

Weeeeee, legs weren't quite up for running but I did hit the bike tonight for a while (until the baby started to cry).  I was SO FAST (for me).  I couldn't believe it.  It's like I've been doing this training and it's starting to work.  Who would have thunk?  I may even trying biking tomorrow if I can get the kids down at a reasonable time.

MyFitnessPal people - who are you on there?  I got myself on and am loving it.  Just recording those calories is going a long way to helping me drop a few pounds.  I only know one person on there though so it's a bit lonely.

thor67 - 2013-01-08 7:26 PM well went for a lame, slow, lazy swim while my daughter was in the swimming...I guess something is better than nothing...

Heck ya, good stuff.

Has your wife picked a Tri yet?  Personally, I'd pick Napa but it would be great if she did the one in Olds!

The threat of drinking the warm coors light (a bottle that has sat in the sun since July) helped me get out of bed and get in my swim and yoga session this morning.  To be honest, I thought about bailing from the yoga session when I realized that not only was I the only male in the room but I was the youngest by a good 20 years.  Nothing like a room full of cougers to get you motivated.

Run tonight.  Gonna crush the 30/31.

I call BS!! Laughing

If we go by the 20 year spread...welll ladies over 65 are not considered cougars anymore!

justinfss - 2013-01-08 3:48 PM Burd- there is a little box you have to check for adding attachment or photo, below the post box. Be warned though, photos can be max 100k, I had to shrink mine down in paint.

Thanx Justin, I always wondered how to do this.

justinfss - 2013-01-08 3:52 PM Another Double day,

Two short workouts, and My run just barely qualify's for the 30 in Jan I think.

But... I have a confession to make folks, I'm a Lefty.... That's right, I only... Only breath to the left while I am swimming. Today I tried to do a bunch of right breathing, and boy it felt weird. I nearly drowned!

Is it just going to be a case of practice makes perfect or does anyone have any tips on becoming a better both sided breather???

Once you go Left, you'll never want to go back.  At least that's what I've experienced.  I started out with that Bi-lateral nonesense, listening to all the importance of needed to be diverse, but when it came down to it, I'm comfortable breathing on my left every 4th stroke.

I've spent weeks breathing on the 3rd stroke, alternating, and I found for me, breathing on the left was just way more comfortable.

I'd say sorry for the 50 posts, but I'm not.  Jeesh people, I go to work and come back and you all have 3 full pages of threads posted.  way to go on the workouts.

Bold prediction here.  The blackhawks will win 2x as many games as the leafs will lose this season. Tongue out  I'll probably end up regretting I said that.  Bob, how are you a leafs fan in Dallas?  Thor, How do you not root fro the Oilers, Flames, or the hated Canucks?  I always wondered that?  Thank God for the end of the NHL lockout.

Yes the Redskins loss was tough, but tougher still is the realization that our QB is wreckless, and a great tallent all in 1.

Got in a 8.2 miler today.  4.6 mile recovery run tomorrow.  Running on ice is no fun, but it beats the dreadmill.

Happy training all.  I get my 10th w/o out of 31 tomorrow.  Hockey game tomorrow night.

Hey all,Sorry I've been out of pocket this week. Out in SF at the JP Morgan healthcare conference (3 days, 33 meetings... Ugh). Goals for the week: Get at least some sleep.Don't eat total crap at all the receptions (5 of them tonight)Don't drink too much, too early in the conference (tomorrow night is a different story)And run at least twice while out here.Managed mostly on all. Have run twice already, will go again tomorrow at lunch (went early last two days). Turns out, San Francisco is hilly... Makes for a good hill run in place of my track workout this morning. Gonna feel that one!OK - putting iPad down and getting back to work. Will log back on as able but might be out of touch (I know how much y'all will miss me... lol). Matt

Matt - Make it your mission while you are out there to try Jamba Juice - it's the best smoothie place ON THE PLANET.  There are a few back here in MA but none really close to us.  Razmataz was my all time favorite.

Once you have eaten healthy then be sure to undo it by trying garlic fries... So good.  Enjoy!

Congrats on the training and for the speed you are finding on the bike.  Won't be too much longer until you are finding that same speed in your running!

In case you didn't believe google.  This is the view I see on my runs: Cool

Yes, but can you really enjoy the view when you have to watch out for alligators?  No way I could ever take my eyes off the trail. I look like a limping wildebeest and would get dragged into the water and eaten.

The day I finally bother to learn to make Hollandaise sauce is the day I give up on weight loss.  That stuff might as well be cocaine for me.  I have asked my wife this question before:  "If I were to lick this plate, how impolite would it be?  Disapproving glares impolite, or getting thrown out of this restaurant impolite?"

Great job everyone. See we have some serious people here trying to get 30 in 30. I'm on the way to the pool to get my 10th workout in.

Weight is coming off so the bere is not going down. Thought I would have had 3 beers that I set out for New Years but I skipped them. Now I'm afraid of putting in the calories since I see positive changes in the scale.

For those of you who have trouble losing weight try my fitnesspal.com. I can't beleive just keeping a daily really helps but it does. I have been stuck for quite a while around 300lbs, thinking I was only putting in so many calories. Now I log it each day and am finding successs.

Love your Mark Twain quote. ... fear is the only thing that holds me back!

Great way to make indoor biking(that sounds funny when I say it in my head) bearable.

Kind of in line with David's football workout, today I pumped it up when the commercials came on...higher resistance, higher intensity...... it makes me hate the commercials even more!!!

The only saving grace was all the grainy KHL (pro Russian Hockey League) highlights..and the fact that we wont have to watch them anymore!
