Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: Vixens Revisited - Du-December Challenge crimefighter2 - 2009-12-30 12:08 PMI've been wondering where out co-captain is myself. FWIW it is easier to run in the snow where it is less packed, even if it gets your shoes a little wet. I try to find someone's tracks but stay out of major ruts where it is slickest. Bring your boots and dry socks to put on for the ride/walk home. Have fun!!oops-on a borrowed computer-no to good with itI just called the local Y for the 5 K tomorrow. My concerns were right. Apparently the first half mile or more will be snow packed and slick. So much for busting out of the gate and setting a PR. I've actually been practicing negative splits, so this may work to my advantage. a 10 min first mile and then two 8's - HA! Probably not. I'll shoot for maybe a 9 and "we'll see" from there. Any advice from the runners in this thread? No, I don't have "Yak Trax" or whatever those are. I do have boots, but I think I'd look silly. Edited by KOM 2009-12-30 6:39 PM |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Vixens Revisited - Du-December Challenge and now for my "race report"
Oddly enough, apparently my age group kicked . I talked to a guy who finished 8th overall. He was 5th in our group. A 17 y/o kid won it, I finished 27th (if I believe the popsicle stick they gave me) and I wasn't even 6th. Oh well. Still glad I did it. Have a great night folks. time to check the sheet..... |
