Member 292 Marshfield Wi | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread We are coming to town on Thursday night. Plan to ride the loop a couple of times on Friday. Then head home after the swim on Saturday. Thurs and Fri nights we are at the Residence Inn MadisonWest/Middleton. A bit away from the lake but lots of hotels, Greenway Station shopping area including Endurance house tri shop, and the hotel has tennis/basketball area to help keep the family entertained while I ride. If a group gets together Firday for dinner we would probably be up for it. Is there an area we could meet up pre or post swim by the lake? |

I need to book a hotel for Friday night, and figured I would book one close to other BTer's if we want to get together for dinner. LindaKC and I are staying at the Residence Inn West/Middleton. We'll get there Friday early evening - let us know if there is a dinner planned! |

Master 1376 Chicago | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Sounds like a couple of people are staying at that Residence Inn in Middleton. I'll just stay there. Let's plan on meeting up and grabbing some dinner on Friday night. I'll be up there around 5pm. As we get closer we can figure out the details. I am also staying Saturday night so if anybody is up for dinner or some beers let me know. For those of you coming through Chicago, try and avoid going through the city if at all possible. Last weekend, I left my house at 2pm (I live 2 blocks from Wrigley Field). It took me 90 minutes to go 14 miles on I90 (Kennedy Expressway). It was jammed up to O'hare. Friday traffic in Chicago blows. |

Expert 2355 Madison, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Benvenutos is a great place to eat in the area (Greenway Station) if anyone is up for a Friday dinner. I just spoke to my mother and she is going to stop at the three aid stations that will be on the course come race day Verona, Mt. Horeb, and Cross Plains. She's doing this as part preperation to follow me during the bike, and part for me to practice my fueling strategies as well. If anyone wants to be apart of this on either end rider, or dispenser let me know. I know there will be a lot of people out that day so this could be very beneficial. Finally that next day I am doing a 2:00 to 2:15 run on the marathon course which will be a loop and maybe a couple more miles. Planning doing this at race pace if anyone wants to join. Get excited we are 33 days away!!!! |

Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I'm excited too! Just booked my flight tonight, Delta had a super cheap ticket! I'm arriving the afternoon of the 9th and staying with my family through the 15th to enjoy some post-race down time. My recovery from LP went really well and my WI build started yesterday so I'm feeling much more motivated. If my body holds up this will have been the best decision ever! |

Very close also....and on opentable.com. Restaurant isn't huge and depending on the size of the group you could practically fill the whole thing...ample portions and the best lasagna and tiramisu ever. |

Both of these restaurants have gluten free offerings on their menu... awesome! Bucatini's seems to have more (actual gluten free pastas) so I'd be tempted to go there. But either place sounds yummy. Definitely filing this away for race week as well... |

It starts at 8:30am and has 3 waves. Depending on the wave I'm in I would anticpate being done between 9:45 and 10am. I'm then going to rest for 90 minutes do a 5 hour ride, rest for another 90 minutes and do a 90 minute run. Going to be a long day. |

If I go at 8:30, I anticipate finishing the swim at 10:00 or so, then go and get ready for the ride. I won't win anything, so I don't have to stay for the awards, but I would to wait on others since I'm sure you 1 hour swim finishers would wait for me to drag myself out of the water. Are we going to ride from the Terrace and do the whole course? Is that the plan? |

Maybe a group of us will be able to start the ride together. Any locals able to chime in about whether that's reasonably safe to do on a Saturday morning? |
