Owie, Donto!  Having a resting pulse of 44 (taken through toe) is pretty low after sustaining an injury!  Just think of what it is when all your body parts are healthy!  Heal up quickly.

I'm doing a time trial tomorrow.  It's 11.6 miles and fairly flat.  The weather is looking good, albeit, a bit chilly for the race.  I'm going to try my hardest to get the women's course record.  I need to shave 40 seconds off my current best time on the course to get it.  This is gonna hurt!  Wish me luck and send lots of fast vibes!

Donto - 2011-10-28 12:05 PM

Well I won't be making my goal for team SE.  Got back from a business trip late last night and was all set in getting in the runs I needed today thru Monday.  Instead I go to get into bed at 1:30 AM and somehow slipped.  I  smashed my big toe into the bed rail and snagged the nail, ripped it back so that it was standing straight up.  Yeah ouch!  Can't wear shoes right now and doc said I probably won't be running for about a week. Frown

I did count my pulse last night at one point to be 44 based on the throbs per minute as I laid in bed at 3am with my foot up on a pillow!

That's horrible! My big toe (or my "thumb toe" as my 5 year old would say) is having sympathy pains.

Argh!!!!  My time trial bike has a broken seat post clamp.  (I've been having trouble with it but discovered a crack today.)  It's at the shop and the part is on order.  I will be riding my road bike on the hilly course.  The hilly course has a super, wicked horrible hill.  Not many women do this course.  I think I have a chance at getting my age group record but no way in h3ll will I get the women's course record.  Boo hoo.  I'll have to wait until March to try the flat course on my time trial bike.  Sigh.  I hope you all still wish me luck.

Did 14k this morning and somehow pulled my upper right bum where it meets my back...by the time I finished enjoying my running club pot luck breakfast and drove the 20 minutes home I was limping in pain. This is my first actual running injury so I have no idea if it is bad or not but I plan to be generous with the ibuprofen and ice packs today and hope, hope, hope I can do my last 2.6K to finish out my 200k goal!!

Well gang... I'm not sure I will make my goal or not.  However, even if I don't get to run again this month I've still managed to log the most miles ever in one month and increased my mileage by almost 70% from September.
As well... I'm fairly uninjured (well no more than what I started the month at )

I ran my 1/2 Mary today in costume  and sans inhaler (forgot it at home) and still PR'd by 12 minutes.  Okay, it was downhill and yes, now I'm having issues breathing and coughing up huge lugies   Not to mention my torso hurts front and back.

Oh well... perhaps I'll go for a walk tomorrow to try and keep moving.

Thanks guys!  I've never ridden that hill!  Holy crap!  It begins with a pitch around 18-20% and then continues for 1.5 miles at about 12%!  That was the first hill!  Thank goodness it was the worst one.  The road surface was horrible, too.  Lots of potholes, no lines on the road and super narrow.  I was weaving all over that road.  My poor husband got a flat on the hill.  He turned around and went back because the tube was busting through the sidewall.  Poor guy.  I'm happy with my time but bummed that I didn't get to do the course for which I was trained.  Maybe I'll actually train for this route next year.  I need to get a lot better at descending in order to get the women's record on this course.  It's totally sketch!  I have a kid!  I can't afford to crash!  Cheers everyone!
