Aaaw... at least the pavement is always available for running....? Biking.... I'll be doing it on a stationary bike. Inside. Remember - it's WINTER here. It gets dark early. I've been going to work in the dark. And getting home in the dark. BLEH! Only 5 more months until we can hire someone new. (I'm ignoring the whispers of a hiring freeze.) |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I'll get one more swim in tomorrow. I'm already at a PB for monthly total meters. On Friday I trade my swim suit for running shoes for the February challenge. I don't think I saw any fish on the team (running team 2). Scot, sorry you are sick again. Take care of yourself and let the rest of us make up your meters. |

I guess I am so run down I need some r*e*s*t. Whatever that is. My boss says that's why my infection keeps coming back. So I am going to lay low for a bit. Don't know if I'll be able to keep myself down however. Grrrr. |

Master 1292 Houston | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I have completed my last swim for the month, but unfortunately, I am 1250 yards short of meeting my goal of 22000 yards. Final tally=20,750 yards. Too many distractions and too little time to get a swim in yesterday I have updated my yardage on the spreadsheet and I finished at 94%. Not bad, but I really wanted to get this done. It was a great challenge and it really pushed me to get back in the pool. I am now going to move into a more balanced training plan and try to get back to running now that my achilles isn't screaming anymore!!! Oh, I have also signed up at a new gym, LA Fitness and it has a great saltwater lap pool! I completed my swim there this morning and I had it all too myself! NICE! Thanks for all you the support Fishies, it was great fun!!! |

Elite 3494 Renton, Washington | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I want to say well done to everyone who swam this month! I still feel bad I didn't make my goal. Of all the challenges this was the one I wanted to finish Oh well. I cannot help being sick. But it's still pants. To Dee and Beth for working SO hard in everyone's progress and the reports and graphs and everything else. You two are in my own words fandabidozi! I had such a blast chatting with everyone here and for all the inspires!!!!!! It's been great.
I think I might sign up for the run challenge but do a small amount, I like having the motivation to keep going and I love meeting up with new folks!!
So thank you again everyone and GO FISHIES!!!!! |

Although I could not keep up with all the message traffic, I really did appreciate all the enthusiasm and motivational efforts. I was able to beat my goal by a substantial margin (140%). Good luck to everyone in Feb and beyond. Hope to see some of you on another challenge. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II January Challenge Final Update (aka, The World According to Beth) You guys rock! Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra – Captain Bluejack maybe the only thing we know for sure is this what I do know, is that this team kicked some monkee booty! Awesome job of inspiring each other and keeping things going! Flying Fish – Captain Kendra Yeah, and hmmm, does anyone else find this disturbing? This team has done an awesome job of inspiring each other – they’ve been through sickness, broken down cars, latex vs silicone and well, they still keep swimming! Team Ride Lots – Captain Scott Eat your Loblolly and ride your trainer while visiting BT and you too shall be a Master – muwahahaha! Loving Every Mile – L.E.M. - Captain Lisa Who’s your Marmadaddy? – Captain Sal Dexter had a most excellent challenge, complete with the Freezeroo #4 Hearnish 10K and the discovery that V8 tastes good with vodka Wet and Wild – Captain JeniWow, so many ways that life can get in the way of training, but this team just continues to persevere! Hat’s off to Stuart (nevergivin) for being the first on the team to reach 120%. They are a team of spirit and inspiration! So many images come to mind when one says – ‘wet and wild’, LOL here’s one that seems to fit Twisted Blisters – Captain Beth Where to start????? Despite all odds, bears, broken ribs, chilling temperatures, radical job changes, new businesses, babies…………somehow, this team remained the chattiest of the challenge teams – hmmmm, who knows, this could even overflow to their standings in the actual challenge You ain’t heavy, you’re my blister – LOL
Scrambled Legs – Captain 1for1 “THIS IS WHY I LOVE CHALLENGES... New Friends, Motivation, Meeting a goal that I never thought I would see me set, and finding ways to push and know I can push harder. “ all we know, is that they are not a bunch of dancing chickens! Team T.I.T.S – Captain Max (aka keeper of the T.I.T.S)Yep, this sums it up! “Our T.I.T.S. are getting perkier, and more voluminous with each passing day. It must be the careful attention that we are giving to our individual and collective T.I.T.S.” There were some treats offered There were folks that were able ride in spite of a hangover, some even put in a 4 hour drainer ride I hope you all enjoyed the challenge as much as Dee and I did! drum roll please! and the winner is???????
