I found out today that I am going to be running for the InStep running team!! YEAH! They are pretty fast- so I may be somewhat put of place.   I guess they pay for my race entries and I get a discount on shoes and clothing and stuff too.

Sweet- huh?

Nice, free entries and discounts--you can't beat that!

Me, I am running for the Out of Step Team--double entry fees, pay surcharges for the honor of wearing actual gear, and run in the BOP.  Tongue out

Sounds like my sponsorship agreement.

I just wish I had received that GPS sponsorship.

Oh well.

Alright, an hour of basketball tonight. Those kids were pretty darn good and aggressive. There were 4 adults against 8-9 kids at a time. AWESOME exercise. We had a blast. I definitely have my groove back.

It is possible that I'm going about this with a little too much enthusiasm, but I love training hard (for me!) and having the occasional race --- the day before the race, you get to carb up!

mmmmm, I'm lovin' it!Laughing (to coin a phrase)

I, too, am very excited after seeing how many miles I ran this month.  Lots for me, fo sho'!  Setting the goal for 100 miles in February.  I am juiced now.  Stick to my plan and I am sure it attainable.  Also should be doing my 100 pushups in a row in about 3 weeks.  February will be one SWEET (pun intended) month.

My monthly totals look pretty weak too. I have some excuses though. We were on vacation half the month of Jan. I also have been on and off sick for weeks. Hopefully, I have it out of my system now. I plan to keep building my volumes until race season gets here. 4 months in counting!

I think the arches are everywhere aren't they? (like rats I guess!)

The race was a wee one but not The Wee one! The local bike club run a MTB winter series - roughly a 10 mile blast every 3rd week over some crazy terrain.

This week was at Wolftrax, @ Laggan. Which is what I expect mtntrainer is trying to build (bits of it anyway). It has 2 enormous climb sections (which I like) interspersed with endless miles of fast, technical single track downhill stuff (Which I enjoy, but I'm way too heavy on the brakes!). I pass loads of peeps on the climb, then they all go screaming past me on the scaredy cat downhill bits, then I catch them on the next climb again - very frustrating!!(probably for all concernedLaughing)

How did your 5k go?(probably only took you about 10 mins, eh?!)

My January totals:

Can't even remember what my goals for the month were but I do remember wanting to get in 30K in the pool - guess I did it if you convert meters to yards ;-) (31,788.07 yards

Hey, I'll take that! I am not a good swimmer so I have been working on my weakness. Soon as the weather gets nice, though, I am gonna want to be outside.

So what have you all got going on for February?

January's totals:
Bike:7h 22m
Run:8h 30m 45s  - 50.21 Mi
Swim:13h 55m  - 29067.16 M
Strength:8h 05m
Hiking:1h 00m

Here are my January totals:
S: 1870.00 Yd - 1h 00m
B: 0.00 Mi - 4h 45m
R: 69.35 Mi - 11h 15m 51s

Would have liked to have more bike but working on that this month. Focusing more on the du's right now since my schedule is going to be super crunched here soon. I'm going to be updating my race sced. soon.

Cheers to February everyone.  I don't care what Punxatawny Phil said, there are ONLY 6 weeks left of winter  Had a great couple of days running outside this past weekend.  Arctic air coming back tomorrow I guess.  Time to go spend some more time with my best friend, Tready.

For anyone doing the 100pushup programme -

I've only just noticed that from Week 5 the number of sets increases! (I've screwed up a whole week) - it does at least explain how I was going to leap from 60 --> 100 in just 3 sessions! I think I'll be repeating - again!

Doh!Embarassed

A pseudo-race report from Wolftrax on the 1st.
Bloomin cold with ice and snow at top of course. My legs felt like lead at the start, but I did ok (1st time out in over a month!)
Only irritation was that I managed to double-tap the start button on the HRM and it spent the whole race stationary! (anytime I looked it read 170-something, which is solidly in Zone 5 on the trainer - I can't be accused of not trying!)

Final results were posted today - I was 10th overall (a very small field!) The only irritation is that the month where I've been faffing with illness and not been on my bike, my race mate has been training like a demon and was a clear 6 minutes ahead of me! (He is much better than me on the downhill, but still...!)

This leads on to my targets for Feb.

1. Finish training for the Wee Triathlon(!)Tongue out

2. Catch that bugger at the next mtb race! (it's in a fortnight's time - not a hope!)Wink
