kcarroll - 2010-02-04 11:43 AM I've spent the last several hours listening to discussion on C-reactive protein.  Living on the edge here.

What was the conclusion? Is C-reactive protein an effective means of determining anything? or just a marker elevated in any inflammatory situation including stubbing your toe?...we had this debate in a class...

I think the general consensus is that it is not a reliable predictor of anything, just a biomarker.  In this case we were looking at sepsis data. After a while I felt like kicking somethingone, stubbing my toe, and elevating my own.

Melindy, I don't think our ghoulie friends are enjoying our banter.  Since you are studying cardio right now we could have some really interesting chat about coagulation.  I bet that would perk them up.

Now Now Robin - we could discuss my line of work and you guys would say the same thing!  but I hate attending my own meetings!

I could talk about computers if you would like to take naps. I'm not a fan of meetings either.

Oh and we can discuss the intricacies of RCRA and CERCLA for hoots. People who enjoy meetings scare me.

OK, back to banter.  I am hosting a farewell party for a work colleague tonight at a mexican joint.  He and his wife are moving to Switzerland.  I am going to partake of margarita's and perhaps some chips.  SO, extra laps for me tomorrow morning.

Oh I know - like I said I have self justification for the amount of working out I do and the freedom to eat crap if I feel like it.

I give myself until Monday and the weigh in, then I will get mad when I have not lost, and will stop it all together.

But come on it is only 1/2 twix bar![/QUOTE]

Actually, I am impressed!  Only a 1/2 a bar is good. I don't really have a sweet tooth.  It's the salty stuff that I go mad for.  Chips and dip.  Ruffles and onion dip is nirvana.
