cajnrunner - 2010-05-24 10:34 AM Ah, not much better than Tiger Stadium on a saturday night.  Tennessee at home on Oct 2nd, or Alabama at home on Nov. 6th would be a great baptism
Might have to scam some tix for 'Bama then. My parents are going to the WVU game (they both went to WVU), but we'll be in Hilton Head that week, so no-go for us. Gonna have to put the call in to some of my people in the Motherland soon.

Isn't that what you do when you working, too.

Meh, not so much anymore.  Now I spend my days teaching the next generation how not to crash their $100M airplanes.

Teach them well Obi Wan!  We appreciate and admire your service.
Speak for yourself. All those damned pilots do is take out a perfectly good plane, break it, then whine that it's broken.

At least it's all ball bearings these days.

don't forget the Fetzer valves, 3 in 1 oil and anti-freeze...Prestone. No, make that Quaker State.

Dude. It's the USAF. They use Royal Purple. The fancy stuff.

I think you just have no experience with them so it's a bit scary to you. Once you go I bet you will loose the fear. Whether or not you like it is up to you but you will loose the scary factor.

speaking of guns...sat. nite we went to my bro-n-law's 30th b-day party...he is in a low rider car club, we were in a private room at a karaoke bar, and one of the guys pulls a pistol out while posing for a picture.

we left right after that.  we both grew up with that life...(wife and I from the same neighborhood), but we have grown up, and are raising our kids completely different.

It just really pist me off.  we never go around anyones bbq's and partys because carp like this...

I have busted my tail, to get where I am, and I hold a pretty coveted position in my business, and have become personal friends with owners/ceo's of many business... and while I never thought that he was going to use the gun, I didnt think anyone was in danger, I was thinking of the police.  we were at a party, with my wife's name on the room...

what would people in my work life have thought about me even allowing myself to be in that situation.

I guess I should have known better...there is a reason why we only see these people on christmas.

Wise move. Get away from the situation ASAP. God forbid 60 minutes later it becomes volatile for any reason.

I'm OK with the second ammendment, but really, if someone pulls carp like this, it's hardly being responsible.

It was your BIL's 30th. Kind of a big deal. It was right to attend and then right to leave when a gun was pulled out, even just for a photo. That's just stupid. Though I don't own a gun (I have a lease with an option to buy. Wink), I'm not afraid of them. They have their place and purpose. A birthday party in a karaoke bar isn't either of those.

As an aside, who doesn't love Fletch? I mean c'mon. It's John Cock...tos...ton. It's John Levinson...I forgot.

As I have said I am a big 2A guy and I think the guy is a jack azz. The only reason to even have one at the party is if he had his CCW and if he did it is never ok to flash a firearm in public like that.   Wrong on soooo many levels
