Today is my day off as I have to work the weekend.  My son was supposed to get up and go to the gym with me at 10am.  It is now almost 11.  Hmmmmm.  Think I may just have to go without him.

I am kinda grooving on being daily accountable on the ab challenge. Maybe something like that for us Ghoulies.

I like this.  My abs need help.

I have ninja abs, you never see them, but they'd be awesome if you could!

Pics or its not true.

They're hiding under the bubble wrap, that's why you can't see them.

ceilidh - 2010-08-27 8:18 AM I am off to catch up on some work. The sooner you all stop by, the sooner I get off of work.

Kim, I would love to take a Chi running clinic. You must let me know how you like it.

Robin, I like the concept of Chi running and really want to move to more of a mid-foot strike.  I took the half-day clinic last year and it's a good start.  I'm meeting with the coach again for a refresher and to work on hill running. Downhills really pound my knees.

I also seem to remember you posting something about your DH giving you a TI workshop that you're missing this weekend.  Hopefully they let you reschedule.  I'd be surprised if they didn't.  Last year for my birthday I took a full-day workshop with Terry L at his endless pool studio. Awesome.  I know TI gets some polarizing debates in TriTalk, but I think it's terrific.  And Terry is a class act.  When I was traveling a lot, he used to send me contacts abroad who I could meet with to swim (hotel pools pretty rare in EU).

Anyhow, glad you're healing.

The T1 clinic was in October. The were really great and allowed me to reschedule. It will be next year though before there is one close to me. I know there are a lot of bashings but everyone I know has gotten a lot out of the method. The same with the CHI running techniques. I think as we get older, it is more important to learn how to be gentle to our bodies if we want to keep up the good work.

Now, back to those phone calls....

I took a 2 hour short session and then one of the instructors espouses the chi-running theories in my class (I've only had him once though).  They made such a huge difference for me.  The next day, I could feel soreness in my muscles and not the joints that had been hurting prior to that.  I just wish that I could hold the posture correctly and get my foot turnover up to where it should be on a consistent basis.

For instance, I went and pushed myself doing intervals yesterday and my inevitable breakdown in form seems to have reaggravated the patellar tendonitis that I had finally gotten rid of earlier this month.  Blech!

Since we all share things here in the land of Ghoul, I'd just like to add that I have been farting every few minutes for the past 3 hours and I don't know why.  I guess I've added my own fifth F to the FFFF.

Good morning ghoulies!

I am being a wimp and waiting for it to warm up before my ride this morning.  The problem is, the longer I wait the windier it's going to get.  I think I'm going to have to suck it up and find my arm warmers.

I'm going to tell you a little story this morning Ghoulies!

We have been Dishnetwork customers for years. Right now they have a customer retention program going on. They offered us free HD for life, and a free HD DVR upgrade. I called them and said, sure I'm in, I'll agree to your 24 month contract.

They told me I was going to have to turn in my old DVR for the new one, fine no problem. The service guy was supposed to be here between noon and 5 yesterday. He got here at 4:45. There were problems. He said his work order said I was keeping the old DRV and trading in the standard receiver. I told him that wasn't what we discussed on the phone. He called Dishnetwork and they told him to let me keep the standard DVR. Cool. He said it would take about an hour to hook everything up. At 8:30 last night he told me that he had been arguing with Dishnetwork for the past half hour that with the new Satellite they sent my old DVR wouldn't work with it. I got on the phone with Dishnetwork. I now have 2 new HD DVR's in my house. The guy was here until a few minutes after 9 last night. I felt really bad for the technician. He was really nice. Because of this promotion he was working forced overtime. He started work at 4:30 in the morning. He still had an hour drive back to Harrisburg to turn in the truck. We ordered a pizza for dinner and I offered him some. I offered him a bottle of water before he left.

I will stay with Dishnetwork, but their corporate offices really annoyed me last night.

I've got a similar story, but with Comcast.

We had been without cable for almost 2 years.  I left it up to hubby to decide what he wanted since he is the main TV watcher when Bell South/AT&T stopped their cable.  Two years later we get a flyer from Comcast with a really awesome deal on it.  Unlimited High speed internet and basic cable all for $29 a month.  Hubby called and they tried to tell him that it was $29 each, not for both.  But the way our flyer read, it was for both.  After hasseling with various levels at the company, he finally emailed the CEO of Comcast.  Received a call from the CEO's Assistant who requested a copy of the flyer.  Once he scanned in the flyer and sent it in, we got a phone call from the regional person who wanted to know when we wanted installation done.  So we have both for just $29.  We don't have HD, but then we don't have a HD TV either.

If they keep that up they're going to need an employee retention program
