QueenZipp - 2011-01-21 2:18 AM An uninspired swim today (pool is in need of some pigletudes) and a pretty good run for me (YAY)....

Kathy, we soooo need to shop together!!

Hmmm, not many piglets hanging out at my pool either sadly.

My exciting news for the day is that I get an orange swim cap on Sunday instead of the usual white one my AG gets - its the little things that make me happy

There is still a lot of rain about though and the roads are probably going to be wet so I think my aim for the race is to stay upright on my bike but still get a decent time. My other aim is to not be last in my AG out of the water for the swim but that is more like a pipedream of mine....

What's te deal with orange?    In races I've done that a different cap color is given it's for the weaker swimmers who want the kayakers to really keep an eye on them.

Hee hee, well maybe they realised I was competing and made sure I was in an AG with orange caps....

cottoneyes - 2011-01-21 9:55 AM Hi all,

Going okay this week down here, getting some decent food in although the training could be much better.

Heading off camping in the morning and won't have any internet access for over a week so will have to get the spreadsheet all updated when I get back.  Already got my 2 bikes, HRM, GPS and swimming gear all packed so should get heaps of training in (as well as a few games of golf).  Camping at the foot of a very large hill which has a running track up the side climbing 1000m in 4000 metres of running, and it is also a great climb to do on the bike up the actual roadway as well (the road climbs the 1000m in 15 kms), but like all hills of that size the coming down is alot more fun than the going up.

I might even try for my first point for a junk food free day while I'm gone.

Sounds fun - enjoy!!!

Oh wow, if anyone has a lot of time on their hands there is quite a heated debate going on in tri-talk about crossfit!

Anyway, I'm signing out for the weekend - have a fabulous one everyone - happy training!

Whoa!!  THat has gotten to be a pretty snarky discussion!  Sad to see things get so contentious.

Have a great race!!

I was hearing about cute little piglets all night last night. On Thursdays I sit at the scoretable for some local basketball games. Usually there is just one single girl but last night a couple of her friends were there so the three of them were going on about the cute guys playing ball.

And good luck with your tri this weekend.

Ugh... so last weekend I found out the pool had some sort of leak and was supposed to be fixed by the end of the month.  Well I just checked the website and now they've found more leaks and they have no idea of when it'll open again... What do I do now???

Is this week over yet?  It has been quite the challenge nutrition and water-wise for me this week.  I did manage to sneak in a great run along the San Francisco Bay while I was there, but spending three days on the road, in meetings, and in hotels doesn't present much opportunity for healthy eating and routine water consumption.  Oh well, I did the best I could.

Nice to catch up on all the posts this fine Saturday morning...

QueenZip:  Congrats on the pending release from PT! I know that's been a long time in coming and I couldn't be happier for you.
Rachel:  Best of luck on your race this weekend.
Cottoneyes:  Your trip sounds fantastic.  You're gonna have a blast!
Rhoda:  On the dress, try not to stress too much.  Probably the best approach is to find something/anything that is a shade lighter or darker than the colors chosen for the dresses of the wedding party members.  You'll blend in nicely in any photos.
Bill:  Congratulations on your monumental achievement!

Happy training and racing this weekend everyone!

Hey all...  I know I've been quiet lately.  Things have been crazy here.  My daughter spent most of Thursday at the hospital getting another round of meds for her low platelets.  We've had TONS of snow all week...  and I'm finally getting to go out and celebrate my birthday tonight!

I really just wanted to stop by say that I'm going to have to drop out of the actual challenge.  I'm trying to squeeze in exercise when I can and trying to eat well.  I just can't find the time to keep track of it or log it!  I'll still hang around the thread when I actually get some BT time, though, if that's ok with you all.  Smile

Rhoda,
I hope your daughter is okay.  Do what you need to do, family is most definitely first.

Morning All!

Rhoda - so sorry to hear things still aren't great, hope your daughter gets better, or her platelets under control at least, soon. I will see you around!

Judi - great running - hurray, hurray!

Bill - you are a better person than me, I am still 0 sugar free days this month. I guess I could use sweetner in my coffee instead but I really like sugar

I had a good weekend, really long, hot and hard race yesterday but I survived. Just off to grab a coffee and then I will look up my times and add my race report.

I actually enjoyed my swim today.  (alright, where did that come from?)  but I really did!
Then I took my race bike out for some love cause I hadn't ridden her since July pre injury.  I love riding my pretty blue bike.  She's fast and I had fun.
My awesome PT has to release me......I can run 3 miles and ride climing hills without any issues on my leg.  What kind of goals could he have left?

Heck no, it just means that todays swim was shockingly fun and not a drudge like most of my recent swims.

Got a point for no junk food - woohoo

I never thought that would happen!

Heh, it definitely won't for me.

I *heart* my sugar too much.

(Eh, I'm addicted to sugar. My brain would probably implode if I tried to go a day without it.)
