so LYNN pulled a smokin' fast T2 at about 13 minutes--for an IM that is smokin' fast! Those transition areas are huge, the changing tents can be a melee, etc!

She is MORE THAN HALFWAY through the marathon and holding very, very steady run times! GOOOOOOO LYNN!

Ye Manatees are so so sweet

It's actually awful folly to keep going on a course after an accident like that, but you're not in your right mind for several reasons (one being the crash itself ...) ... it simply didn't occur to me to stop.

Until my sister kept screaming at me ARE YOU OKAY ARE YOU SURE YOU CAN KEEP ON BE CAREFUL etc etc after she saw my condition in T2 and what I looked like "running" out of it. That's when it occurred to me that I COULD stop, but not that I WOULD stop ...

Today's pretty awful but sure not as awful as running Thanks for all the well wishes!

Thank you SO much!but, Yanti darlling, how are you? I'm worried about you sister. Please take care of yourself. thanks for everyone for your inspirations and your well wishes. It was a most amazing experience. I've never been so joy filled and happy, except for childbirth. And, that one hurt, too! I'll fill you all in when my RR is done.

(so sweet of you to think of me but) Yer not spozed to be worried about me, you're spozed to be recovering and basking in IRON GLORY

besides, I'm always doing something stupid and worry-creating, so it's nothing new.

BUT YOU ARE A BRAND NEW IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRONMAN

Or as Tony put it, which I love:

IRONMAN(atee).

TriAya -

Couple of crashes on the bike, 2nd one bad. Concussion and three bruised ribs.

Still finished, though (stupid stupid stupid) ...

Stupid action boldly executed: the very definition of heroism.  [Possibly also the definition of triathlon.]

I'm not royally pizzed, self-pitying, or in really acute pain anymore, so it'll get written in the next couple hours.

Thanks for asking

P.S. Adrienne belted out a SMOKIN' FAST half-mary this weekend too ...

Hi All:

I haven't been here in awhile but keeping track through email.

I have to congratulate all of you who have completed your races, got new PR's, got up after incredible mishaps, made it accross the line despite the weather, the cold, the heat, and what ever else I cant remember to become triathletes.

I am both full of admiration and terror. I have never competed at this level and I am so proud of all of you. But... I am now thinking about all that coud go wrong and am scared to death.

Thank you all for keeping me going. Good Luck to all of you still training and congrats to all of you who have completed your races.

You are all amazing.

You are a sweetheart, Grainne! Glad you've been keeping up and checked in.

Y'know ... endurance sports are (bells and whistles aside) a pretty cheap way to ensure quality of life and longevity.

The crap that happens is just different crap than what would happen in the normal course of a life anyway.

I lied. Again. But I also forgot that my RRs take a little longer than a couple hours to write (more like a couple days) especially when I'm also posting.

Maybe fewer than 50 pictures, you say? Really?

Good or bad race, I'm sure the report will be worth the wait (based on having read all your past reports and loving them!).

Hello fellow Manatees, hope everyone's training is going well.  I've been a little bummed the past couple of weeks.  I'm now taking an antibiotic for a sinus infection and ear infection that's been bothering me for the past two weeks.  I'm relieved to finally be on something and hopefully will be healthy in time for my HIM.  My training has suffered some but hopefully once my ear infection clears up I can get in some good swims before the race.  At this point, finishing without dying is all I care about.

Stay healthy everyone.  Being sick is such an inconvenience.  Thank you...had to vent.

So sorry I've been MIA.  Dealing with life stuff since Memorial Day.  Will be updating log this week.  CONGRATULATIONS! to all new triathletes and GOOD LUCK LYNN!!Laughing

No worries, manatees take sabbaticals--Crystal posted an article about that.

Welcome back, and how are you holding up? Your mom?

Well, I'm glad June's over.

She's doing great! .  Sorry about your accidents and I'm glad you're healing.  Yes, Mama Manatee, I promise to update the (dismal) June log this holiday weekend. LOL  Six weeks before my first HIM this year.  Needless to say, I'm already in HTFU mode.
