Ok the short of the long: Plan fell thru........no underwear was exchanged

He got tied up at work (not literally) and we missed our reservations, so decided we were going to head to a piano bar, skip a heavy dinner and go for lighter food and drinks.  When in pops my new roommate Annie (lives in the apartment above me)  She been dying to meet him after a year, and Annie is conveniently a sommelier, who happens to have a couple botttles of chilled bubbles and few bottles of Jack Nicklaus private reserve 2008.

Well the end of the story, is I had to share the Captain MOST of the night.  We finished off two bottles of bubbles and 3 bottles of wine, we made some chicken quesadillas and they talked wine shop all night, I was overserved and sat politely and just smiled (slurring NRG is not cute).  He was happy to finally meet one of my friends, as was she, and he missed his flight this morning Innocent

Sounds like a really good night (and morning ) was salvaged from things not going according to plan  Cool

It was a lot of fun and it was fun to see him talk about something I had no idea how passionate he was.  He wants to host a party at my new place, he's got 15 years...blah blah blah and want to do a progressive food and wine pairing.  Which sounds great, but not sure if he realizes I have no one to invite....you and goggs will make the guest list.

Just do what I do....nod every now and then, say 'Humm...intersting', courtesy laugh, and excuse yourself for the bathroom.

Works like a charm.

I'm putting it out here now .. that they will say that I am not hydrated enough and they can't get my blood.  Mhhmmm.  i"ve been fasting since 8pm last night and since have consumed at least a gallon of water.  Now we wait and see if they try and say I am not hydrated enough.

I am a rebel .. can you tell?  A real trouble maker.

Hmmm....interesing.

Hey....I gotta go to the bathroom, lets catch up later.

See.....worked great.

It is I that has to go to the bathroom ... a lot.  I must just have thick blood ... like sludge.  That is their problem though, not mine!  They want my blood they gotta figure out how to get it!

I just remembered that I'm supposed to be donating blood next week.  I'm a good bleeder though, it usually only takes me 4-5 minutes for the vampires to take their fill, and then I get cookies!  It's a win/win

Can you skip this one? You likely don't want to donate blood within 60 days on an IM. On the contrary, you may wish to recieve red cells (see Lance Armstrong if you need help with this).

I really should hit up Lance for some tips - he's got 'em all!

Not to worry, as soon as I remembered, I also re-scheduled the appointment for December.  Sometimes I'm smart!  Then there are all the other times...

Were you not hydrated enough?  Tongue out

I hope you're not a zombie - it would kinda suck to be all happy during the race in AZ and then you jump out and bite me while I'm doing the IM shuffle to the finish line.  It would also be kinda mean.  And selfish.

Yeah, I gave platelets two Friday's ago, didn't think it really affected me as I was sucking air on my bike commute going up hills before and after.  But then I did a group ride and got dropped like a bad habit.  Sooner than usual that is.

I recommend not doing that until after a big race.  I think the anti-coagulant they gave me for the platelets really hosed me up immediately, but the lack of RBCs is a definite tough thing to overcome.

I've wanted to donate platelets - but I was told that I don't weigh enough to be able to do so.     I didn't realize how much just donating blood can affect a person either until trying to go for a run after donating last time.  I don't think I even made it 1/2 way through the run I had planned before I bagged it and went home to the couch.

I would take offense at this, except for two things: (1) it's true, and (2) picking a fight with you would probably end with me sitting in a corner crying like a little girl, with fresh bodily marks as proof of the struggle.

So I'm just going to say I am fine.

Teejaay - 2012-10-17 12:13 PMMy blood ... she flowed .. barely!  Four (dizzy) vials ... five stops .. yes, my blood just stops flowing into the vial, we wait, then it explodes like a fire hydrant.  I do not understand.  Maybe I'm a zombie.  My head hurts.

needle bezzel was probably up against the side of the vein or something

Hi TAN, getting ready to head to Vegas, this morning's workout sucked donky balls, i made the 4+ boat line up for the Hooch so I wll be rowing twice that day... That is all I think

How are you degenerates?

I would take offense at this, except for two things: (1) it's true, and (2) picking a fight with you would probably end with me sitting in a corner crying like a little girl, with fresh bodily marks as proof of the struggle.

So I'm just going to say I am fine.

Wise man!
