disturbed275 - 2010-08-28 7:15 AM Good morning ghoulies!

I am being a wimp and waiting for it to warm up before my ride this morning.  The problem is, the longer I wait the windier it's going to get.  I think I'm going to have to suck it up and find my arm warmers.

Arm warmers in August?  You need to move to GA.

Its been getting down to the low 50s overnight the past few nights.  It's been so nice not having to run the air, but I have had to wear arm warmers for my early morning rides.  Small sacrifice.

Hey Ghouls! Happy Sat! I think I'm going to go bed shopping today. New bed new bed new bed! I'm going to get a 10km in later I think. My hip has cooperated since my 28k and it seems I will make it through! Woohoo!

Well, I think toting around a 5 pound nose should qualify as a workout itself!
Just sayin.

Happy Saturday evening Ghoulies.

wgraves7582 - 2010-08-28 7:30 PM Howdy Ghoulies.

Just back from one of the most punishing workouts I think I have ever done.

A Single Speed Century to ski country and back.  My legs are officially tired and I am hungry and my dad locked the truck with the key in it so I am stuck eating stuff around the house instead of that big juicy steak I promised myself as I dove into my hurt tank to climb the hill home.

I shall sleep good tonight!

WOW Bill. Hope you feel okay today!

Morning all. Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood and hopefully I will be able to enjoy it today. I've been just too groggy. Not fair on my days off!
Now for the rest of the story. We found out on Friday afternoon that my mom is going to have to have her knee replaced- MONDAY. We have to be at the hospital (45 minutes away) at 6:00 am. AAAGGGGHHH!!!
Then she'll be in the hospital for 4-5 days with PT twice a day that I should be there to help with. We did this last year. It is a lot of pain for her and takes a lot of time to rehab. Worth it in the end but.... wow. I wasn't expecting this. (Neither was she).

I can hopefully get on-line at the hospital. Surely they have WiFi! I need to chat and to work. In that order.

I will check in later to see if there are any Ghoulies about.

Have fun.

Hope that all goes well with your Mother tomorrow.  Wow, such short notice.  She must have been in a lot of pain to move that quickly.

wgraves7582 - 2010-08-29 8:37 AM Morning Ghoulies.

Just got through watching The Mexican - what a dorky movie.

Legs are in good shape and I have to ride my bike to church since my dad decided to lock the truck with the keys in it and the wife isn't due home until noon time.

Have a great day and I will chat with you tomorrow.

Short week this week - off Tuesday and then off to Arizona for rest of week so I will not be around much

Morning Bill, good thing you got so many bikes to choose from.  I'm impressed by your single speed century ride.

Did a 12.56 mile run this morning Ghoulies! I wanted to do 15-16 but it was just too hot. I didn't get out of the house until after 9. I should have gone at 6 like I wanted to. My legs felt good, I could have done the extra miles. I came to the point where if I went straight I was 3 miles from home, if I turned left I was almost 6, and I was out of beverage. I carried 20 oz of Gu Brew, and 20 oz of water with me. Most of the water I ended up wearing instead of drinking. I would squirt it down the back of my neck and on my face to try and keep cool. It was 90 when I got home.

Hey ghoulies!  I had a pretty good Sunday.  Volunteered at a tri this morning.  One of my old college buddies was doing it as his first one so it was a good time.  Then I had a great swim and run this afternoon.  Honestly, it's the best I've felt for either since the crash.  Very pleased.
