It's just that I have some deadlines coming up, so I need to get things done. Actually, if I hadn't spent so much time on BT lately, I'd probably be OK. But it's still BLEH, anyway. disturbed275 - 2009-11-10 6:16 PM iowagander - 2009-11-10 6:09 PM Good afternoon Gobblers! I got ST session #3 done today, as well as a little over 3 miles. It was a nice lunchtime workout which is my second favorite time to workout following early morning. The only problem with early morning workouts is the early part, so lately most of mine have been in the late morning. Oh well Great job Tom! I wish I could get away during my lunch break. It would probably be very therapeutic. It definitely helps. I'm starting to think I should bring my running shoes with me everywhere I go in case I ever need a little stress-relief break... Ugh! Hope you can wrap it up soon Dee. Maybe you should tase your boss tomorrow for revenge. Just a thought... It sounds like your boss appreciates your work, so I'm happy for you. I know not everyone can say that. Please remember that all of us challengers appreciate your work as well. We're aware that you put a LOT of time and effort into this, so THANK YOU very much! It's 11 PM, and I'm just finishing up today's work. That means I didn't get a workout in again. Jen has offered to do the challenge update this weekend, which is way cool. It'll give me some time to catch up - and hopefully get an exra workout in, to make up for the missed ones yesterday and today! Thanks, Jen! |

Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Gabbing Gobblers - November Challenge Good morning Gabbers! Heading out for my run in a few minutes... I had Tuesday and Wednesday off (a weekend in the middle of the week!). We had Tuesday off for Hurricane Ida, which became Tropical Storm Ida, which then pretty much fizzled. But the base was closed anyway. Then yesterday was a holiday. You would have thought that would be a good time to get some workouts in, but I just couldn't make myself get out in the wind. Today is much better, though.

Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Gabbing Gobblers - November Challenge A few pages back I read about problems staying motivated after a big race, or during the off season. How does everyone do it? I did my first (and last!) HIM in May, and felt like I coasted through the summer. I'm trying to get serious again, but I'm just not feeling it. Any suggestions? |

How does everyone do it? I did my first (and last!) HIM in May, and felt like I coasted through the summer. I'm trying to get serious again, but I'm just not feeling it. Any suggestions? I find it really hard to stay motivated without a race or a specific goal to look forward to. I've been struggling, especially since I haven't been running because of the injury. The only thing I've been real consistent with so far is swimming and that's because I set a specific goal of lowering my 1000yd TT time by 1:30 by the end of January. I think about that goal every time I'm contemplating whether or not to make it to the pool. So pick a race or a specific goal to start working towards. And keep participating in challenges. Their accountability has gotten me out the door more than once. |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: Gabbing Gobblers - November Challenge Did a 45 min. trainer ride this morning. It was the first time using my Cycleops Fluid 2 that I bought off eBay a few weeks ago. I LOVED it! So I just need to get a 45 min swim in between now and Saturday to stay on track for my November goals! Motivation is so tough this time of year! It think without this challenge, I would have thrown in the towel and just started tri training in January. So count me in for the next few months of challenges. And I agree with Neal... if I don't have a specific goal, then I'm useless. I thought putting my second HIM on the calendar for 2010 would motivate me throughout the off-season, but it didn't. So, Dee... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for organizing this challenge... it's basically all that's been keeping me from playing racquetball 5 times a week and completely blowing off my tri training. |

We are getting a ton of rain and wind from what's left of Ida. Hopefully it stops tomorrow because the Richmond Marathon (and Half Marathon) is on Saturday. I'm not running, but my husband is. I'll be spending lots of time outside and that is going to suck if it rains. |
