Pro 4482 NJ | Subject: RE: The Ghoulie's: We Are Doing What We Are Loving December Challenge Evening Ghoulies. Looks like I have some catching up to do. Today turned into a rest day in terms of training. Snow was pretty heavy when I got up and the Y had a delayed opening, so no swim today. Thought about getting on the *drainer* but needed to get into work for an early meeting. Had a busy day and was looking forward to getting out early when my assistant reminded me tonight was the company holiday party/reception. Perhaps yesterday would have been more timely for a reminder. Anyhoo, the party was low key given the economy and general state of affairs. The cool part of the evening was I met a guy (the husband of one of my co-worker's) who is a triathlon coach....3 x Kona finisher. (We only have 120 ppl in the office, but lots of very fit and active folks.) Anyhoo, was fun talking tri stuff with him. They have a condo in Kona and he volunteers the years he doesn't qualify, so he had some very entertaining IM stories. |

I did a *speed read* of today's chat and will summarize the following: - Bill is enjoying his new status as *Dorkface* and is going to shape up the slacker teenager population. - Ann and Dee are helping Bill get straight on his priorities and *duties* - Melissa is making all of us envious with her return to competitive swimming. (got time to coach in between med school demands??????) - Neal is tucked up under his Hawkeye aka Linus blankie until the blizzard abates. |

I'm slowly warming back up. Since my landlord never came and cleared the parking lot I had to brave the -6 (- something ungodly with windchill) and clear out the thigh-high snowdrift in front of my garage this morning. And since I don't own a shovel I had to use a frickin dustpan. It took me nearly 45 minutes and I still almost got stuck getting out. But I'm out and made it to work fine and it's nice and toasty inside. Although I may be working a 12 hour day to make up for some of the lost time yesterday. |

I'm still stuck at home. Apparently we've gotten anywhere from 12-17 inches of snow depending on who you ask. My landlord has done nothing to clear out the parking lot and there's still a huge drift in front of my garage. That and the drift in front of the front door has gotten much deeper. Any thoughts of getting to work or the gym are definitely off the table. I might have to invest in a shovel if this is the sort of snow removal service my landlord is going to provide. I did manage an ST session so I didn't feel like a complete slug today. But now it's time to head back to the couch and throw in another movie SUCKTASTIC. but all the more reason to snuggle up w your blankie. im gonna start calling your SCHROEDER. 'member him. what movies did you take in today, while you were hunkered? stacieb Let's see. I took in the new Star Trek, Angels and Demons, Monsters vs. Aliens, Spaceballs....hmm there may have been another 1 or 2, but I'm not thinking straight. I also managed to download the BL finale and watched that too. Oh, and there was plenty of napping done in between showings. I haven't had a lazy day like that in a looooong time. |
