You'll have so much fun. Come on........ Training for the Half Mary is a great idea! Perfect training plan to be ready to jump in the water at Lake Stevens 70.3 next summer. Cheers. Oh Mark I know I would and I really want to but I have a *difficult* husband who is fighting me tooth and nail about racing ~~ I just don't know what to do!! This has bee a really hard year for me and things like this just add to it. You have been fantastically successful this year!

I can only listen to music when i'm on a treadmill or spin bike/trainer. If i'm outside it bothers the heck out of me I don't have anything to even try to listen to it while swimming. Do you find it bothers you to not be able to listen to music during a race? Just curious!? |

It's hard for me to accept I can't make racing more a priority but you're right...it's about finding balance and heaven knows i'm trying my dangdest right now! My family has gone through a huge transition with me going back to work (and even i'm struggling with my decision of not spending this time with my babydoll) and I am so close to finally getting my degree that I have to make that a priority as well... Anyway, thanks again for the kind words and putting things in perspective ~ I need that every now and then |

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED Well I am happy to announce that I officially passed my class ~ barely and that is with my instructor not even grading everything. I really can't complain as she was very tolerant and helpful during this very hectic and stressful time. I'm a perfectionist so it bothers me that I got a "C" instead of an "A" but i'm just thankful i'm done with that one. I haven't decided on whether or not to take next semester off. To be honest, the only thing holding me back is I know how hard it is to start back up once I take a break. Hey, guess what this Saturday is? My 15 year anniversary...we have no plans and to be honest haven't even mentioned it but that's ok as we have always been pretty low key with things like that. Now throw a birthday in the mix and I act like a total kid! Is that wrong of me |

Uxbridge | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED I think part of tri training speaks to the little bit of OCD behavior in all of us. It is about balance. Part of my reason for not doing an IM this year was that it took too much time away from my "life" and I felt very imbalanced in all my other aspects. I have a very supportive family...but I still felt overwhelmed at times and I needed a break. Being injured also played into the decision.
Oh and Michelle...one of my favorite sayings about college is " D is for Diploma"...I stressed that with my kids...no one ever looks at your GPA. Neither of my kids got D's but it helped to relieve the stress |

Veteran 320 Orange, CT | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED Mav - very funny "D" is for diploma. True - i think i got by with a couple of D- (electromagnetic field theory - yuck) If i had to guess this class would be what a bad LSD trip would feel like. Busy weekend for me - Painting, which is kind of relaxing once you get to the actual painting and before you have to do the dreaded cleanup. Some other house errands, but managed to get in a 30 mile bike ride friday, tennis match on saturday and a 5k race sunday morning. Heading home from work for dinner and then to the pool if nothing at home stops me. |

Expert 913 Lost in the Evergreens | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED Fun swim workout this morning. Warm Up: 5x100 easy Drill Set: 4x75 as 25Kick only, 25 Stroke only, 25 put it back togethor. Main Set: Cool down. Shoulder is very sore. During swim it's fine but at night it's stiff and effects my sleep. Also sore resting in the aero position. WOW! I just realized the 4x100's are almost as long as the swim leg of a sprint tri. yeah. Now I need to get in the lake. Edited by Fit4Infinity 2011-05-24 11:59 AM |

New user 33 | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED I completed the Warrior Dash on Sunday....
I knew I wasn't going to have a great time, since my training was curtailed by my stupidity of over-training. It was *hard* I came in around 8,000 out of 8,200.
but I finished.
if there's one in your area, I highly recommend it. it's a hoot.

Expert 913 Lost in the Evergreens | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED Hi guys, Fit's starting to show signs of over training. Got out of bed on the wrong side with an upper resperatory infection. Stayed out of the pool this morning. It's not often I miss a workout. With a race next weekend now is not a good time to get sick. How is every one else doing. |

Uxbridge | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED Congrats One Faller. I have always wanted to do one of those! On the bucket list! Mark...sorry about the cold. It happens. Rest rest and more rest. You will get through it and be better on race day for sure. Dont frett about training...the hay is in the barn. Much more important to rest and get better. I have fianlly started to see improvement in my knee. Yesterday I was able to bike over 50 miles and my knee is fine this am. SO EXCITED. Really hoping to strengthen it so that I can run sometime soon. Lots of drama in my personal life. Sorry to be so absent. Hoping the Lifetime movie ends soon. |

Expert 913 Lost in the Evergreens | Subject: RE: Mav's mentor group - CLOSED 2 days of rest and I'm over my cold, trying to decide do I ride the 70 miles 'Seven Hills of Kirkland' or go swim in the lake? the long ride is better for my 70.3 plan, but I also need some cold water swim time to prepare for the Willamette river. brrrr.

IMHO I think an easy ride would be better. I hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend. It like summer here in New England...temps in the 80-90 and humid. Last week I had the ehat on. Go figure!!!! |

And yes, Mav, it was like summer here and now i guess it's like the other part of our New England summer (Thunder Storms). Good thing i got in my run and bike ride during the nice weather. Not sure if the pool is open today and i'm sure the gym is closing early. Rain is letting up tho, so it might be a good day for a trail run |

Am I really the only one who questions this?? Painting...you for hire? We started painting when we moved in a year ago and needless to say the same areas still have paint splotches from where we were testing paint colors. UGH! |

Maybe one i'll become one of those folks, huh? |
