I vote for 2 trees today and one tomorrow!

It is starting to rain here, then tomorrow comes the winds. YUCK. I HATE wind. gusts to 50 MPH! YUCK!

I don't mind the wind when I am at home, but if I am at work and it rains with the wind, then the roof leaks.  The wind blows the rain under the tiles and then we have rain inside.  Cool! (not)

Yuck.

I had a phone conversation with a friend who said that the purpose of the call was to see if I was over my cold and feeling better. My total part of the conversation consisted of "hello", several "uh-hu's" a "Have a good Christmas" and "good by". the conversation lasted 22 minutes.

I feel for the people in Jersey and Staten Island.  They continue to need our support and prayers.

I'm sitting on the phones at work.  Hardly any calls are coming in.  It is the slow Holiday period.  I have always said that if they want to furlough us to do it at this time of year.  From Dec 20th to Jan 1st.  We already have four vacation days in there, just add four fulough days, and we would have a nice long break and we would not have to juggle staff in the branches.

Good morning Ghoulies!

We have the wind and rain here today. There is a chance we could have a white Christmas though. And more snow is possible later in the week. I'm WFH today, when I'm done I need to go out and finish my Christmas shopping, and pick up a few things I need so Keri and I can do some baking this weekend.

Happy Fa la la la la Friday

Happy Friday! Today is my day off. We are supposed to get HUGE winds today 30 mph sustained and gusts to 70 mph. So, I am scheduled to drive all over creation to pick up a friend and get my nails done. Then meet some folks for singing Christmas Carols. All of that, or none of that may happen depending on the Wind. Driving on curvy roads with lots of trees in wind is not a good mix.

Uh... staying put, watching Christmas movies, and drinking hot chocolate may be a better option.

Tonight was supposed to be the annual Christmas caroling on horseback extravaganza, but I don't think it is going to happen. We had 2" of rain last night, and it is really windy here, not a good combination for kids on horses. It is supposed to rain/snow/wintery mix later this evening, too. Staying home sounds good.

Saturday and Sunday are supposed be nicer here. We are going to a friends house for the annual caroling at their house. It is fantastic. 10) or so people in an old house decorated with pine, good food that everyone brings and everyone, including the teens sing carols. There is always a competition to be one of the Kings in "we three kings'. Kids and dogs run all around having a grand time. Come on down, the more the merrier!

If there wasn't so much going on around here this weekend I would bring the kids and come down.

Our caroling is anywhere from 8-15 horses plus their riders, and some walkers, everyone has candles, and we sing carols at the houses of people who let us ride on their property. It's usually a 4-5 hour adventure. The kids are only along for part of that though. Candles don't do well in wind, and the horses don't like flashlights. We will decide later in the day, but right now it's not looking good that it's going to happen this year.

Both of the caroling events sound wonderful.  Sorry the weather is not cooperating.

Our weather is wet & windy also, but this afternoon I really want to take Hanna for a run.  She and I both need the exercise.

Monday and one other day next week it drops to 20% rain instead of 60% or more.  Still cloudy and rain for the foreseeable future.

My Christmas vacation started today at 1:00 pm.  Yeah!!!  Don't go back until Wednesday the 26th.

I started it off with a 4 mile run with Hanna.  I made chicken soup with cornbread and green salad for dinner.  Then we watched a Christmas movie and then A Charlie Brown Christmas movie.  We had actually never seen it before.  Pretty cute.

Have a good weekend everyone!
