Dang - you're up early!

Yeah, but I'm exhausted mentally and physically. I may not go in today.

Mental Health days are good for you. Espicially if the weather is awesome and you can get out in it. Go for a bike ride.

Does that scare anyone but me?

Although, if you said you had Wendy's sitting in your kitchen right now (especially a jalapeno spicy burger), I'd be right over.

Mmmm...sounds good, haven't tried that one yet.  Sounds like the car may take a detour after my swim at lunch...

My son is an assistant manager at a Wendy's. He left the wig here about a month or so ago and we haven't had a chance to get it back to him. I don't think he is in any rush for it. Guess they got more than one hanging around.

And it's kind of funny me having a Wendy's wig, what with me being a vegetarian and all. (By the way, so is my son. LOL)

Did not have to report for Jury Duty yesterday or today. Keep your fingers crossed for me, cause tomorrow and Friday are the days that I really don't want to have to report. Relay For Life is this Friday and I'm supposed to be there to help get it all set up.

It is really an awesome and inspiring event. I have not missed it once in the past 12 years.

Have a great time at Relay for Life.  I've done a few in the past, and you're right...they ARE awesome and inspiring!

So tomorrow, I'll have this:

High speed wireless internet access, so I can access BT internet from home and from 'hotspots' while on the road...ability to sync with Outlook and pick up e-mail should give me more access to BT help me to be more organized...

Hiya Nibbs.

Went to my doctor again this morning, had a bunch more tests.  Here's the longer version.

The Clif notes version is that I had a ton of blood tests and have to get another scan on Monday.  I feel like I'm on House.  My husband asked if they were going to test for Lupus too.

Jen, I'm so sorry that you are dealing with so much pain and no results from the Docs. I hope that you can get an answer in this next round of tests. Keeping you in my prayers.

God, I need therapy.

Not sure if Nibbs can help since I think we all need a little bit of therapy.

Got anyone you can talk to?

Nah. Sometimes I think the only reason I'm doing this racing is to prove someone else wrong and a) they can never be proved wrong, no matter what and b) I'm chasing a ghost.

I'm not entirely sure that I'm doing this 'for me'. Other than the obvious benefits for my health.

Well, even I know that you need to do it for yourself and not for someone else. Whenever doing it for someone else, you will not make yourself happy, in fact I think you will become unhappier because you are not doing something you love for you. If the someone is your ex, then just forget it. You'll never prove them wrong even if they are. That is a no win situation.

Thanks, Kendra.  I'd really like to have an answer.  If I could figure out how to make the pain stop and avoid it, I'd be happy.  It would also be nice to figure out what I can eat and not cause problems.

Is there something you would like to do for yourself?  Maybe more music or something?  You could focus on doing that instead of the racing.  You seem to like training, but not really the race part.  Is there a reason you have to race?

Yes, focus on the guitar. You seem to enjoy that.

Well, when I think about it objectively, she put down EVERYTHING I was - intellectual, guitar player, etc. and cyclist - and traded me in essentially for a dumber but much faster model. I guess trying to beat someone at that game when they 'simply don't get it anyway' is never going to get me much of anywhere.

LET HER GO. SHE IS NOT WORTH IT. Pay attention to what you like to do that makes you happy and focus on that.

That makes me sad.  It's hard to always feel that way.  She really is not worth all of it, but it's probably not going to help to say that.  You have to find things for yourself that will make you feel better and then keep adding those in.  Us telling you that you are great isn't going to help nearly as much as you knowing that for yourself.  But, for the record, I do think you're a great guy.

Hey, Nibbs...

A big weight is lifted...I accepted a publication offer for my article - it wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but it is still a really really good placement. I will stop complaining now - at least until my next piece is on the hook.

And I had a really nice lunch with my lady colleagues (a once-a-year fun event).

And I ate a crappy bag of cookies from the vending machine.

And I'm working from home tomorrow so I can go for a long bike ride.

And I'm asking for a bento box for Mother's Day (although I think Sugar Daddy will nix the bike accessory wishlist...I'll still try).

And now I'm off to a faculty meeting. So much fun.

(by the way - all is well here on campus...other than the initial sighting and frenzy accompanying it, the "shooter" person has not been seen or found)
