Is that a good thing? I have never been quoted before but I did fake a whole 9th grade english interview assignment and it got published in our newspaper. I about died. The teacher was like why are you acting so strange about having it published? I told her I was nervous because nothing like that had ever happened before.

Too funny. It sounds like the storyline for a Brady Bunch episode. I think being the author of a signature line quote is a good thing.

OMG not the Brady Bunch - that is what I have become Great reference though. Remember when Greg lost the drawings for Mr. Brady on the way to his girlfriends house? Classic. Good thing Mr. Brady was not like MrBigFuzzy's Marine Corp Dad! They all would have had broken noses!

that is toooo funny!

I DO remember that episode.  It was #31.  Here is the Wiki guide to all episodes.

Ahh...broken noses...just another reminder of one of the most classic episodes:

The Subject Was NosesThe classic "Ooh, my nose!" episode. Marcia, wanting to date the school hunk instead of the nice but unspectaular son of a wallpaper salesman, breaks her date. Peter's errantly thrown football causes Marcia's nose to swell and her dream date to unravel.
Thanks for the episode link Anne...

Aww, poor Marcia.  That was a classic episode.  I seem to recall watching this during my Brownie days.

Can I think of a funny response or do I hit submit to pad my reply count?

It has dropped off recently and July will be a low month with travel & vacation.

Nope, nothing. Oh well here is a Tinker Beth/Dee post count pad post since it is almost July!

LOL!  We encourage post count padding lively chatter among the team members! It's good for morale

ps

your response actually was funny

Hmmm...we must be pretty close in age, because I was a Cub Scout then...unless of course, you were watching the re-runs...

Well, I was born in 1961.  Might have been reruns.  Does anyone know what the median age for induction into the Brownies was? I think it was 6 or 7?

So in challenges it is acceptable to ask a woman her age? (JK)

How about weight?  Since we are all teammates here?  Yes/No (JK - Don't throw darts at me - I am wound up it is Friday!)

I never DIRECTLY asked...and Anne volunteered her age......

I'm 43...for some reason guys never have a problem giving up their age...

I believe most of the gals here would agree that age questions are ok, but inquiring about a lady's weight is almost always a bad idea.

LOL - exactly!

nope I didn't do a 13k post, truth to be told I completely missed the fact that I had gotten there - someone actually had to point it out to me - haha!

that sounds about right - I was a brownie and I 'flew up', but never actually did the girl scout thing

we moved a lot when I was growing up

skarl - 2008-06-26 1:38 PM Gary, you're not the only one with quoting issues ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm in that club now too. I think I quoted myself.

LOL!  it happens to the best of us!

Sometimes I am the only one that agrees with me so I love quoting myself.

I told a friend I might wake up Sunday and do a 10-15 mile run and they were like you have too much energy.

See I tell myself that I say yeah Man that rocks I will join me so you aren't alone.  But alas, I am alone anyways.  Why is that?

Because you talk to yourself?

Went for a lovely little bike ride at lunch.  Weather is overcast and breezy.  Very nice.  Guess I should work, but after working almost 23 hours in the last 2 days (have I already whined about that?) I'm really not in the mood.

Look after missing the dinner last night and not being able to give me a report - you should quit!!!!

That is 3 days worth in my mind - Take tomorrow off also!

Remember to keep that weather around for July 13-15th.  Hitting Golden Bicycles up right from DIA and renting a full suspension mountain bike (probably buy it also but I remain non-committal on that front right now!)  Gonna go find the biggest mountain close by and puke all afternoon long.  Torture myself for leaving 20 years ago!

Lots of trails to choose from!  I'd join you on the ride but we'll be out of town as of 7/13 -- concidence?

If you need a refresher on the trails, Jefferson County Open Space has good maps on its website.  Also, teamevergreen.org might have trail rides listed.  I know they have great maps for road rides.  Of course, the higher you go the cooler the temps.  My local favorite is Evergreen Mtn. at 3 Sisters.  I hear Buffalo Creek is good too -- not too technical.  There's a relatively new trail at Lair of the Bear that's popular.  Not that popular is good on a trail unless you're there @ 6am.  Have a great visit!!

I think I have just found a new quote for my signature.

Is that a good thing?  I have never been quoted before but I did fake a whole 9th grade english interview assignment and it got published in our newspaper.  I about died.  The teacher was like why are you acting so strange about having it published?  I told her I was nervous because nothing like that had ever happened before.

I still have a copy of it and we always laugh about it when I visit the parents back home.

Susan - Do you remember the Sports guys on Channel 7 in the mid 80's?  It was all about them and a supposed interview I did with them.

Nope, didn't move here til '93.  In the 80s I was on the east coast and as we know, CO never makes the news unless we get snowed in.  Or the governor says the state is on fire.

Not true... remember the boulder that took out I70 in Glenwood Canyon?  That made national news.    So I guess it's if you get either snowed or rocked in LOL
