Good morning Gabbers!  Heading out for my run in a few minutes...

I had Tuesday and Wednesday off (a weekend in the middle of the week!).  We had Tuesday off for Hurricane Ida, which became Tropical Storm Ida, which then pretty much fizzled.  But the base was closed anyway.  Then yesterday was a holiday.  You would have thought that would be a good time to get some workouts in, but I just couldn't make myself get out in the wind.  Today is much better, though.

We are getting a ton of rain and wind from what's left of Ida.  Hopefully it stops tomorrow because the Richmond Marathon (and Half Marathon) is on Saturday.  I'm not running, but my husband is.  I'll be spending lots of time outside and that is going to suck if it rains.

Here's hoping for clear weather.  Ida's rain went through here in a day, so hopefully the same will be for you.

It's been raining since Tuesday night.  Apparently, we have Ida remnants clashing with the remnants of a Nor'easter.  It's exciting.

Exciting as long as you don't have to travel in it.

Now THAT would be cool. They have fantastic trails in just about any part of that state.

We have had Ida for a while. Flooding, driving rain, wind.. The only really bad part for me is the migranes I get when the pressure changes rapidly.  The drive into town yesterday was like a Subaru commercial..

Weather here is pretty depressing... cold, rainy, YYYYUCK! A cruise to the Bahamas would be nice right about now. I actually love the holidays, but once you get into January/February, I'm done with the cold weather cr@p.

So I think I'm canceling my plans to run wog today. A couple of kids disappeared from a house nearby, armed with guns and ammo. There are helicopters and police cars all over the place.

Believe me, I make a slow, easy to shoot at target....

The rain from Ida is gone now. But the wind is still here.....

I'm sure the gusts are making the search (for the 2 kids with guns) interesting" for those helicopters.

Anyone want to come by and take my dog out tonight? Although, I don't want my dog going out there either. Do you think I could potty train him?

Dee, I think the copters are just circling around your house wondering... where the he** is Dee and when is she going to get out there and taser these young ruffians. I think a couple zapps from you will get them back on the path to being fine, upstanding citizens!

Yeah, the drives to and from work have been unnecessarily exciting.  Normally takes me about 25 minutes for the 16 miles.  Last night took about an hour.  Not looking forward to today.

I believe that being stranded inside due to criminal activity qualifies for a goal adjustment.  Please check withe the Challenge Organizer.  I hear she's tough but fair, usually.  Laughing

Seriously, good reason to stay inside.

Well, I was able to run a little over 5 last night.  Yippee.  It felt great, but the legs feel like it was 10 today.  Guess that's what happens when you go "no impact" for 3 weeks.  Good news is that the knee felt fine.  And, I found out that the HM also has an 8k option and I can drop into that next weekend.   Still get to run rather than sherpa.

Good morning Gobblers!  I'm so glad it's Friday, even though I already had a weekend in the middle of my week with the tropical storm/hurricane blowing through.  What's everyone up to this weekend?  It's race season (running) down here, but I'm skipping this weekend and racing next weekend.  We're heading to Orlando for a few days to go be big kids instead, and also to celebrate our 25th anniversary!  The celebration is a week early because of work things we have to do, but when you are married to an airline pilot you have to take the days when they are available.

Have a super weekend!

I will be out in the Palo Alto area visiting my sister and her family so I probably won't make it down to SD.

It appears I'm a year too late.  They had been living in SD the last two years and that's where I'd taken my last two winter vacations.
