Just went for a chilly little run. Its -20C with the windchill......which is 0F for the Americans.

And I had to take OFF my jacket and gloves.
Sheesh.......see why I cannot run in the heat?? If I overheat in these temps you can just imagine how I suffer in July!

Nice little run though. I have officially ditched both my watch AND my Garmin.  I will still log my distance, I know my routes like the back of my hand. And just to keep a rough estimate for my logs I will put in a time in the logs.............but really for now I do not give a hoot about the clock.

I am going to just run for the sheer joy of it!!

Ugh. I had posted up my ironman progress and BT ate it.

It's something like this...

Bike = 58 miles (54 to go)
Run = 18.4 miles (8.xx to go)
Swim = 2150 (1713 to go)

I think I'm going to shoot for double.

OK here are MY Ironman numbers....in METRIC BABY!
Bike:1h 19m  - 29.33 KM
Run:3h 27m 57s  - 35 KM
Swim:4h 00m  ---- appx 9000m

Translation:
Bike is 180k for 112 miles
Run is 42 k for 26.2 miles
Swim is 4000m for 2.4 miles

So......almost done the run and over on the swim. But the bike? Yeah. That may take some work!!

I did a bike threshold test today at home. My Garmin was giving me trouble from the start, kept losing connection to powertap, hr strap and cadence. I reset the garmin twice before continuing. I figured that out and then it was giving me an error when pressed the lap button.

I did an hour workout that included a 20 minute test. When I finished I looked at the files on the garmin and the info was there. I connected to my computer all that transferred was a 5 minute warmup. There were 3 files from today, I erased 2 and all 3 disappeared, Argghh... now I have to do it again.

But I have to wait a few days to recover so I can push it again. I already had done a pre test Saturday.

Nothing wrong with doing again tho'... just more pain to endure.

btw... I didn't get my workout done today. Details in blog, if you are interested. I'm such a wuss.

Finished up the run portion of the challenge this morning so only the bike is left.  No discomfort in my leg at all during the run - happy about that.  May go ahead and register for the Gasparilla 15K in Tampa  - its not until the 3rd week of February.
Question - what does the yellow square mean on your training log calendar??

On the left of your blog there is the blog month calendar.  Just below that calendar is a "Color code >>" link.  When you hover the mouse over that link, you'll see a menu, below.  A yellow entry means "Only logged 'Overall comments'", meaning you only blogged a non-workout entry.

*Update:  The information copy/pasted, below, did not carry over the little color boxes for some reason.  The editor may not like it's own code.*

¦ - Run, bike or swim data
¦ - Strength data, with or without tri-sports
¦ - No logged workouts, only health data
¦ - Only logged 'Overall comments'
¦ - Race Day

? - Injured/Sick
? - Current day

So they say things come in 3's so hopefully, Mav's, Duane's and my injury will be it.  I am back on track and hope the both of you will be soon.

I made it to the pool this morning.  I did an easy 1100 yards,  mostly drills.  My swim coach was the lifegaurd today and said my stroke was looking very smooth.  That was nice to hear.  I did feel really good and was surprised to not feel winded.  I was sure after 3 weeks without swimming I would need to rest alot.

Thanks for the cadence/speed thing.  Maybe I should have gotten a heart rate monitor instead.  Or maybe I should just train

hopefully today is better,  I started a fast on sunday where I only had liquids and no caffinee until noon today, then a very basic diet for the next couple of weeks,   I really need to keep track of what I eat since it's difficult to get enough calories for me,  which means lots of beans and veggies for the next couple of weeks.

I'm way off that challenge,,,, but now that the weather is getting a bit warmer my motivation is getting better
