Good morning bEASTies! The rain is supposed to start today so I have a lovely trainer ride planned for tonight! Looking forward to a planned day off tomorrow. Although, I do need to make up a swim... does floating in the hot tub count?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICOLE!
Enjoy a couple days off from training and have a great birthday dinner tonight!!!

Good morning, bEASTies,
I got a 50 minute trainer ride in this morning.  Caught up on a couple episodes of "The Soup" (I love that show!).  Did moderate intensity, low resistance spin during the show and high intensity, high resistance, out-of-the-saddle during commercials. It was a nice change of pace.  Still pretty sore after the long run yesterday.  No afternoon workout.

Morning team!

Today is my day off the paying job.

So instead I will:  work out with a trainer at 10,  swim at 11:30,  drop the 17 yo at her internship at 1, Trip to Target for supplies, Shaws for food and Best Buy for a new phone charger since one of the puppies chewed it up again! Then finish office notes, make up spin class, pick up daughter, dinner prep & clean-up then teach spin at 8.

I still like the above better than werk ;]

Holy moly!!  That looks like fun!  It would probably take me about 5 years to train for something like that though!!

One of my husband's running buddys from high school actually does these. A lot. That is some crazy, crazy stuff! Certainly requires a lot of dedication! It's a lifestyle...

Great way of wording it - a crazy lifestyle right?

Do you guys race over in Syracuse or Rochester at all?  I am down by the Bill's stadium but head over to Rochester periodically for races.

One of the races we do every year is is actually a little south of both Rochester and Syracuse, but haven't done one in either city exactly. Every year we do the Cayuga Lake Tri which is just a little north of Ithaca. We started off doing the sprint race. Last year and this year I am doing the Oly. My husband claims his hamstring still hurts too much to run. Usually I stick closer to Albany for races but have gone up to Lake George because I have friends up that way. I've actually been trying to do a race out in Buffalo but can't get the timing just right with all the other stuff that comes up over the summer. My family still lives in Buffalo (Sweet Home, actually) so doing a race out there would be a nice little vacation. Traveling with the kids and race stuff is sometimes challenging...

By the stadium, huh? I am so jealous!!! I grew up going to games with my Grandpa who had season tix. Don't get back often enough during the fall...

Morning Bill.  Now that is a workout that I could not need a nap over but I still don't know how you ran that far before work yesterday and not take a nap at all!  I bet you slept good last night!

I think my level of productivity at work from about 2-5 could be considered "napping".  I fell asleep on the couch at about 9:15 last night and slept like a baby!

Bill/Rhoda,
I grew up in Syracuse.  Came down here to PA to attend Temple, but I consider myself an Upstate NY-er at heart.  I'm doning the Syracuse Ironman 70.3 this year.  It's probably about a 5-6 hour drive for me to get up there, but I thought it would be cool to do a race in my old home town... plus, it's the closest M-dot 70.3 race that wasn't sold out.

Are you far from Carlisle?  You should look into the Iron Cross and we could hook up this fall.  60+ mile cross race - sounds like fun but I bet it hurts!

So I take it you are rooting for Temple tomorrow against St. Bonaventure huh? - lol

Go OWLS!!!  Do you have a link for the Carlisle Iron Cross?  I looked online but could only find info for prior race results.  I've never done a biking-only race, but if it's in October, it fits perfectly into my schedule.
