Happy Saturday Ghoulies!  Enjoy the Holiday those who time off has already started.

I had a productive Thursday evening and Friday.  Three tress were put up, all have lights on them, and two of the trees have ornaments.  Woot!  Just one more tree with ornaments to do and that will be this evening after work.

So, Robin, you got your wish.  Three trees.

Good morning Ghoulies!

We have the wind and rain here today. There is a chance we could have a white Christmas though. And more snow is possible later in the week. I'm WFH today, when I'm done I need to go out and finish my Christmas shopping, and pick up a few things I need so Keri and I can do some baking this weekend.

Happy Fa la la la la Friday

Happy Friday! Today is my day off. We are supposed to get HUGE winds today 30 mph sustained and gusts to 70 mph. So, I am scheduled to drive all over creation to pick up a friend and get my nails done. Then meet some folks for singing Christmas Carols. All of that, or none of that may happen depending on the Wind. Driving on curvy roads with lots of trees in wind is not a good mix.

Uh... staying put, watching Christmas movies, and drinking hot chocolate may be a better option.

Tonight was supposed to be the annual Christmas caroling on horseback extravaganza, but I don't think it is going to happen. We had 2" of rain last night, and it is really windy here, not a good combination for kids on horses. It is supposed to rain/snow/wintery mix later this evening, too. Staying home sounds good.

Saturday and Sunday are supposed be nicer here. We are going to a friends house for the annual caroling at their house. It is fantastic. 10) or so people in an old house decorated with pine, good food that everyone brings and everyone, including the teens sing carols. There is always a competition to be one of the Kings in "we three kings'. Kids and dogs run all around having a grand time. Come on down, the more the merrier!

If there wasn't so much going on around here this weekend I would bring the kids and come down.

Our caroling is anywhere from 8-15 horses plus their riders, and some walkers, everyone has candles, and we sing carols at the houses of people who let us ride on their property. It's usually a 4-5 hour adventure. The kids are only along for part of that though. Candles don't do well in wind, and the horses don't like flashlights. We will decide later in the day, but right now it's not looking good that it's going to happen this year.

I have some battery powered candles that you can use.

They are calling for rain here on the 24 & 25.  Looks like it will be a wet Christmas in the south.  But since we still really need the rain and water in the reservoirs, I am not going to complain.  It will be Gods gift to the south.

We are thinking of going and seeing "The Hobbit" on Christmas day.  Our son will be heading off to the girlfriends by 1pm, and if we stay in the house we will invariably do some housework and I would love for this to be a day off completely from the mundane.  We have only done a movie once before on Christmas day and was surprised by the number of people who do go to the movies that day.  And it is a treat because we usually only go to the movies about once a year.  This will make it twice in 2012.  Wow!

Hello! I've been a little MIA again. Sorry! The Hubby got home from his latest trip on thursday. I spent Thursday and Friday catching up with him and getting a couple last minute gifts pulled together. Today I went and ran with the Team in Training folks, and came home to take over care of the pukey Boy.

I've done something to my upper back. I occasionally have some soreness after a run ever since breaking my arm. Earlier this week, I did a 10k on a treadmill, and I have been hurting sooo badly ever since. I went and got a massage Thursday morning, and it was sore but a little better--but after today's little run it is killing me again. Hot shower, stretches, heat pack, nothing is helping! Eek!

That sounds like a great idea. Christmas afternoon movie. The kids are usually gone to their mom's by then so Jim and I have the afternoon and evening to ourselves. This year they will be here, maybe we will all go.

I had something like that after I had my surgery on my neck. My back hurt horribly. What helped the most was some stretching exercises, regular massages and acupuncture. The acupuncture was amazing! Keep at it with the heat, stretches and rest.

Merry Christmas Eve's Eve!  My back is finally feeling better! But now I'm hesitant to go for my run tomorrow. I went to the chiro at the end of last week, an then the massage a week later. One run after each and it was all undone. *sigh* Only one way to get ready for the run in Key West, though.

Just do a couple of miles. You may have done too many, too soon the other day when you did the10 K all at once. Ask Kim about her short, but frequent training plan. Stretch afterward. I hope it doesn't hurt at all.

How was everyone's Christmas?

We had my family over on Monday afternoon. That went pretty well. Yesterday morning the kids gave me my Christmas wish of sneaking into our bedroom and jumping on our bed telling us to wake up. We were already awake, but that's ok. We opened, then played with presents here, then went down to my MIL's. We had lunch there, then I came home for a nap. In the evening we went to my parents for dinner.

We had about 3 inches of Christmas Eve. I'm WFH today because they are calling for round 2. Snow/sleet/wintery mix supposed to start this morning. I don't drive in that.

Good morning Day after Christmas Ghoulies!

Ann, I am assuming you were already awake because you woke early to put something on  Sounds like you had a great Christmas.

Our day was wonderful.  On Christmas Eve, I inquired as to what time breakfast would be.  I am a early riser no matter what day of the week and wanted to know when I could wake up the other two.  Decision was made for 8:30 breakfast.  Well, I was up making muffins and my son got up and came down about 7:20.  Said he had been awake for a while, so I woke up hubby and we had breakfast by 8am and onto the presents, etc.  While the kids were growing up they always knew they could open their stockings immediately and we would get to the presents after breakfast.  So, I realized my son had not done his stocking before breakfast.  Guess it is not much fun if you don't have an audience when you are older, LOL.

Very nice relaxing day.  We saw the Hobbit, missed the 300, made the 4:00.  The couple next to us did not know it would not be the whole story.  They were upset.

Library is still closed today, so I will prepare the bedrooms for the grandkids who will be arriving on Friday.
