Tri_sport ... and to add to the great Hill tips, I've read (and do this) when you are running down the hill spread your arms out a bit as this helps your lungs to expand a bit and you can breathe more relaxed (lower HR) and simply allow your legs to easily carry you down.

Tri_sport: I would highly recommend you take a few Endurolytes (or some other form of Soium and Potassium source) on the run regardless of temp because you are getting zero electrolytes from coke and water.  Unless you have a gel with high Sodium content.  I have the Powerbar C2MAX Gels and they have 200mg of sodium each; most gels usually have 40-60mg.  But then again you could probably bypass any electrolytes and drink a beer at each aid station and still end up with a smoking 1/2 mary time

Dream Chaser - good tip on downhill running! As far as the run, I do typically carry endurolytes with me on the run and will take a couple every 2 or 3 aid stations. The coke has a surprisingly good level of sodium in it, and I love it as a little sweet treat late in the race day. I'm sure I'll be taking endurolytes on Sunday.

Ah, there is some sodium in Coke - 33mg.  Still, on endurance events many coaches and pro's advise ingesting 600-800mg per hour - also, granted, we will be racing in cooler weather...

Well.... drove the course and the bike had more hills than I thought and Murder Hill looked like just that I imagine 4-5 hours in to the race - it will look even more steep I'm sure. I forgot to mention we are staying at Altlantic Terrace (Rm. 209) if anyone wants to say "hi" hopefully I'll meet some of you tomorrow at the race. I'm at the internet cafe right now as I can't seem to get a connection in my room. Took a quick spin up 27 and a jog on the beach w/ the hubby, felt very sluggish -hope that will not be the case in the morning. By the way how freakin' cold is it here -jeeezz. Anyway good luck my fellow BT peeps -hope everyone has a great race!

From now on I am going to keep my yap shut about nutrition.  I am officially and idiot.  Nutrition is officially my achilles heel.
