So how is this different?

He's not dumb, just not much for conversation unless it's spiritual talk. But he's a great Godly man, and you can never spend too much time with a great Godly man. So that only adds to my desire to have him around when my friends and I go to dinner

As long as you enjoy the person's company and have things in common there's no reason why you can't hang out, have fun, and be friends! Even if a person isn't all that smart or not so good looking, you can always learn something from that person or that person can impact your life is some way that you'll recognize later

Now if your intent is hang out with someone for only one obvious reason then yeah- I think that's wrong. I guess I'm just a nice person and give everyone a chance. When I think about, most of my friends are nothing like me, but that's what is so cool about you. You can learn from them and they can learn from you.

And yes- I like smart guys.

When I have vacationed at various resorts, it is quite common to see some old pauchy guy with a young babe in a bikini. I wonder who is more pitiful---the one who is "buying" his girlfriend, or the one who is being bought. Oh well. I guess if they're both getting something that they want out of it, then it's their business. But I still don't understand.....

Bettylou, it (male eye candy) is a visceral thing, not unlike a decadent dessert. You don't want to eat decadent desserts all the time - lack of proper nutrition, improper caloric intake, etc. But it sure is sinfully delicious once in awhile; just don't kid yourself that it's going to sustain you long-term. And don't squeeze out good caloric intake to make room for the bad.

What's really wonderful is when you get eye candy/brainiac/spiritually grounded all in one package - you've hit the trifecta! Granted, eye candy is subjective - what I find attractive you might find repulsive. To each her own candy. I like my candy with beautiful abs.
