Expert 683 Lafayette, CA | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge I did my race today. Good stuff--but I can't figure out why I was so slow.... My sighting was spot on and I held a consistent pace. Strange.... http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=179639

Veteran 170 Plano, TX | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge Okay, time for us to kick it up a notch to get our training goals in. If it's been raining as much across the country as it has been here, it's been tough to get the workouts in outside! My computer crashed a few days ago and I'm finally back up online -- have to go post some workouts this evening after work

Expert 683 Lafayette, CA | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge Good reminder! I have updated the google doc. I'm at 52%--I'm really behind on my biking as I got stopped during Saturday for Lightining. I'm hoping to make it up on the other events. On tap for tomorrow is my last long run before my race. |

Veteran 170 Plano, TX | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge It is still raining! Over 10 inches now in the past 7 days We needed it for sure, but this is like living in the Northwest! My last 3 bike rides were rained out -- that's 80 miles I have to make up! Guess I better dust off the trainer or go to the gym. |

Veteran 170 Plano, TX | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge Yep -- this is a pretty quiet crowd! I did a 5k this morning - good way to start the day! I parked a mile away from the start/finish, maybe I should add my 2+ miles of walking to my tally! :-) Had a funny bike crash yesterday if there is such a thing -- check my log from yesterday to get "don't do this on your bike" moment. --> dimplespoo -- Have a safe trip!

Expert 683 Lafayette, CA | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge I had my first race rehearsal. It was tough compounded by a bike Mechanical. Not good--but the good news is that I have done the distance before and I'll get it right next week. |

7 | Subject: RE: Gorlocks - September End of Summer Challenge Hey Gorlocks! Well, it looks like I'm going to be failing my first challenge, which I am ashamed of for the sake of the team, but I have indeed been moving and building and working. It was pretty dumb of me to think that I would be able to keep up regular postings and a regular workout schedule between a temporary stint in a small town with no internet and my return to school where other things have taken precedence over posting here. Nevertheless, reflecting on my progress, I am proud of myself for not quitting entirely, which is what I was tempted to do. This is not my letter of resignation, merely my letter of "Sorry Guys." Oh well. Live and learn, and make your avatar a picture of a twinkie or something in the process, right? But way to go rest of the team! Especially wieczynski! Let's keep up the work even if we don't quite beat the challenge! |

Bundle the tracking and don't worry about the inspires/chat. Do what you can do! |

Some days I'm in front of my computer for 12 hours a day so it's kind of easy to log on and keep things up -- then I may go days without logging on because I just get focused on something else. Just keep working -- getting off the couch is a challenge in itself many days -- and that's not failure in my book!

Think my race schedule is pretty much done for the year -- going to continue to train and start focusing more on running. I really want to do a half-marathon at the end of the year or beginning of next year, we'll see! |

I haven't even had a chance to check in. I hope I have been deleted from the team so my stats (or lack thereof) don't hang you up. I am on the road to revovery but too late for this month and I really missed the team support and interaction. Sorry again.... |
