It's actually a running joke about doing a trainer session using one of the Spinervals DVDs. Some of us joke about our "hot dates" with Coach Troy. If you're familiar with the DVDs, you'll get the joke! Coach Troy is definatley something... |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats I have Hillacious and AeroBase Builder 5 that I have done. Both are good workouts though the aero base builder is LONG (2 hrs) if you do the whole thing. Both are broken into shorter segments so you could do the warm up and a couple of segments then cool down. Picked up one that is designed fo time trialists and raithletes yesterday when I put my wheels in for a tune up but someone on the last challenge team has used it and it came referred by his LBS. My daughter thinks he's irritating--he can be as he counts down the time left BUT there are good explantions throughout the workout of what you should be focusing on and the purpose of the segment. |

Veteran 128 Orange County, CA | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats I'm here. Sorry, I had a very busy day and try as much as possible to stay off the computer during the weekends to spend time with my husband and daughter. My name is Lisa and I am training for my second triathlon ever, which is in April. It is a sprint and I have been training consistently since the beginning of the year, though I was more focused on running to prep for a hm. I had a nasty cold last week and am feeling 100% this week. I really need to kick it into high gear as I have less than 2 months until my tri, but right now I feel pretty confident. Juggling all three disciplines is a challenge for me. |

Be careful not to overdo it coming back, relapse would really stink (that's what folks keep telling me too)

Member 23 | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Hi everyone, I am brand new to this whole Tri thing. I have talked about doing it for a long time and finally decided it was time to take the dive. I have been training now for about three weeks but am finding it to be very difficult with m Job as i am constantly traveling. As time goes on I am learning tricks to make it easier for me to get my workouts done and stay on track. I am hoping that this contest helps me stay motivated like I am right now and pushes me to get on the bike, even after a long day of work. Got my first ride in last night and plan on doing another tonight after work, hopefully by nine if I am lucky. Good luck and have fun Nate |

Tim Tim, You can add as you go or just put in each weeks total along the way as long as it's there for the challenge update each week. J |

Veteran 276 Cedar Rapids, IA | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Hi Nate, Welcome aboard! My job involves extensive travel as well. I would say at least half of my workouts are done in a hotel fitness room. When I am home, I try to get up early and get the workout in before everyone else is ready to go. For me, its not the training thats hard, its balancing it with the rest of my life thats difficult. Best of Luck! Tim |

Good luck and have fun Nate Nate - I hear ya on the travelling and training thing... its really hard. If Im really busy with work the ONLY way I get a workout in is in the mornings because it can be so hard to predict when your day will finish (especially if you are on the road) that its easier to fit it in in the mornings... (having said that im NOT a morning person!) Things that help with travelling and training: - Running is always the easiet - never leave home without your running shoes and gear - If you have a choice where you stay, chose places with a gym or lap pool - If the above is not an option look into local gyms or pools before you travel (or even ask BT to help you out!) - Im not sure abut in the US but some gym chains here allow you to use your membership at any of their facilities nationwide (sometimes a certain number of times a year, sometimes unlimited). This may be an option for you if you already have a gym membership! Best of luck with your training! Cat |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats So it looks like no one really has a burning desire to captain this squad. Hmm, I hope it means you'd rather be training than checking spread sheets Okay...we know the google link is on PAGE 2 of our thread so use the google sheet and I'll be the one to verify things since I'm always in peoples logs (hmm, does that make me nosy?) Cheerleader and Fact Checker. I'd say that makes you a multi-tasker not nosy! |

Member 39 Michigan | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Hello Seriously Spooky Cats....what a great name! I have a cat named Boo, so I guess it was destiny that I join your team! My name is Mary, I finished two sprint tri's last summer, which were both very (very, very!)challenging for me. I don't get as much time to train as I'd like....full-time job, married, two teenagers, and volunteering with both the school band program and church parish council. Yep...I'm a crazy person! So....from my "Bajapat Mentor Group" who's NOT doing the "Don't be a Marshmallow" bike challenge, I've committed to 8 hours of riding this month. We are still deeply entrenched in throes of winter here in Michigan, so my riding will be on a trainer or spin bike. I rode 45 min. last night. How do you guys report your time/miles? Is there a link to a spreadsheet or something?? Thanks for letting me join! I can use all the encouragement I can get!! |

I even turned it into a "mini-brick" by taking the dogs for a quick jog right after. Figured I'd better try out this going from one sport to the next some time before Mar. 16. Member 23 | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Thanks for all of the great pointers. I have looked into trying to find a health club chain but it did not get me anywhere. Living and working in the midwest has man drawbacks one of which is the lack of any kind of large company or chain having a presence in multiple places. I do get an opportunity to choose my hotels a lot of the time and have been making an effort to stay in hotels with gyms. Another thing that I have just started doing is bringing my new bike with me on the road. I do most of my traveling by driving and only a small portion as flying so when I drive I take my bike and sometimes even my trainer with me. I would say it helps most of the time but can be a challenge getting my motivation up to hall everything into the hotel to set up and workout. But summer is on the way and all of that will go away soon:-) I am getting to spend a few days in one location for a change so have been getting some good workouts in so far this week and am looking forward to getting at least one more good ride in yet this week hopefully. |

Veteran 128 Orange County, CA | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats I'm crazy busy lately. Tok an hour-long spinning class yesterday (which is how I am getting almost all of my bike workouts in) as well as a very good and swim workout. My form is really improving and I feel stronger in the water than ever. Going to get a bike ride in later and am now heading out for a run. Hope everyone is well!!! Lisa |

Veteran 123 Jacksonville, FL | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats A real bike ride today - outside and everything! Perfect weather - around 72 degrees, not too breezy. My training plan called for hills, but I don't have any where I live, so I did the "hill workout" from the Garmin 305 and cranked up the gearage every two minutes, then backed off into zone 2 for two minutes. Score one hour for the Cats! |

SPINERVAL HILLACIOUS IS GREAT FOR THAT, NEED A DIFFERENT RISER FOR THE FRONT END TO ELEVATE IT AND SIMULATE THE HILL EFFECT...I'M HITTING THE TRAINER TONIGHT AND TRYING MY LUNGS OUT TOMORROW FOR A REAL JOG WHEN NO ONE IS HOME TO FUSS AT ME FOR DOING IT (SHH, DON'T TELL MY HUSBAND) |
