Hey all, hope everyone had a great weekend! This is my last week of total madness getting ready for my friends wedding that is happening here in my yard. Work is crazy this weekend too! My goal this week is to make it through the week and to get into that lake ans SWIM!!!  It is just now getting warm enough to not freeze the fish.

Shaun, this is your last week before your race isn't it. How exciting ! Looking at your training logs- you will rock!

Beth, isn't this your last week of craziness too= Hang in there!

Very happy with my first 5k.. my husband and I got 4th place in the open group team, 1min 30sec shy of an award. But the best part is I bet my goal of 30 minutes by 15 seconds :-). Final time 29m45s. The race atmosphere that Disney puts on was amazing. The music they had going throughout the park really made me keep moving and all the people the dj, just awesome. I can't wait for the danskin next weekend!

Great job!!!! Its nice to know that we can exceed even our own expectations!  Have you set time goals for Danskin?

As for me,  I'm still here.  I have a research paper due tomorrow in Shakespeare, my senior project presentation and Spanish presentation and British Romantic literature essay final all on Thursday.  After that I can breathe again!  I'm signed up to do the 5k Race for the Cure on Saturday!  Thanks for being such a good group and being tolerant of my wicked schedule.

Hey Gator, How did you do? photos please and all the details.

Shaun, how are you doing for next week?

I am back.... Finished the wedding in the yard and am ready for the Memorial day weekend long party we have here So now I can actually start some swim training as well as run/bike.

I changed around my training schedule to start the swim portion on Monday leaving the rest the same. Mostly so I can see what I should get caught up on and didn't want to jump back and forth on the schedule to see what type of swim training I was supposed to be doing. It sorta worked.. my planned totals are off but that doesn't really matter.

How is everyone else doing?

Nice to see everyone tackling everyday life problems EXCEPT me!!!!! My finals end on Wednesday and I have a presentation that night a paper due tomorrow by noon.  Mc Fuzz left Saturday for Italy and will be back late Wednesday night.  This is the seniors last week at the high school (we have one of them) so it will be busy.  Tuesday morning is Honor's Day and that night is the Sterling Merit banquet.  Wednesday and Thursday are finals for the seniors and Avery has waived out of all but 2 of them.  Thursday startingat 8 am is the senior walk for me.  We start at 8am at one of the bars and walk the gauntlet of bars till way late.  That night is the Pops & Awards concert that night for our senior (& 2 freshman) so I have to remain somewhat coherent.

Was supposed to race Saturday in Race for the Cure but time was not on my side   Ended up taking a final that I thought I would take later and getting laundry done.  It was nice outside so I hung 3 loads outside got some of the priming done on the lower windows (I'm afraid of heights so I don't do a lot that requires the use of a ladder).

I'm seriously hoping that I can get my butt in gear next week.  May need some cattle prodding from you guys.

Hey all, I couldn't get outside at all yesterday. It is hard to run/ swim when trees are falling due to wind! We were without power all day as well so I did my strength training and I hope to get the swim/ run in today. We will see. How is everyone doing?

Finals are still going strong and Mike is out of the country so I'm pulling triple duty.  Today is Senior's Honors Day so I'm going to that and then tonight is the Sterling Merit Banquet for the top students in the area.  Mike is more than a little upset at missing it   I have my final presentation tomorrow night and I need to tweak that and Mike comes back in town lat tomorrow night.

I have quitea  few friends that are graduating so I'm planning on participating in the Senior Walk on Thursday.  Saturday will be work on the house day (painting the outside).  I hope to get something workout related in but we will see. I have an Olympic tri in late July that  seriously need to get my arse in gear for!

Hey, quick question. Does any one know why my strength training does not appear on my chart for "actual" minutes on the blog?

Beth, sounds like you are doing WAY too much!! You sound like the army- you do more that the average before breakfast! How on earth are you going to do an olympic in just two months?

It may have to do with the  way you have it set up in your control panel.  I'll ask Marmadaddy and see what he says!

If you're refering to the Actual vs. Planned graph, it's Tri Sports only: swim, bike run. Strength does appear on the Total Volume graph further down the page. If you want to see Actual vs. Planned that includes strength minutes, you can use the  Graphs link in your blog to create custom reports.

Well, I finally signed up for my first 5k - Winter Park's annual Run for the Trees on May 24th.

It's next Saturday, the day before my birthday.

My husband has decided to do it with me, yay!  Cool

This will be my very first athletic event (yeah, I know it's only a 5k) since I was about 12 years old.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

My wife and I participated in the Great Urban race in Philadelphia PA today. It was awesome if this race or others like it comes to a city near you go and do it. Great fun and a good excuse to train outside of the box. We ended up running a few miles total but had the opportunity to run probably 4-5 but we were with some less athletic folks and we were working as a team.

I have posted some more pics in a photo album on this site under The Great Urban Race Philly '08.

Gator and Mac have done their first races of the season.  Who is on tap next?  My Oly isn't until late July (I'm doing it while McFUzz is out of town).  I'm hoping to train a lot more consistently now that school is out.  We spent the weekend with a lift so that we could paint the top portion of our house.  Wednesday is our middle son's high school graduation and my in-laws are coming for that.

I hope to get a nother run in tomorrow morning.

How are your goals coming?  Is there anything you would like for me to do special for each of you?  I've been pretty scarce so now it's time to be active for you now!

Glad to see everyone is doing well. I spent most of last week at various hospitals with my FIL, a friend undergoing chemo and another emergency. NOT the way I had expected it to go. Seems life always gets into my training program.

Gee, Shaun you make us all look like slackards! I read your race report.. sorry about the swim mis-hap but hey, you did it!!

I am having surgury tomorrow so I will be slacker than normal on the training and the boards for a bit.

Hey Beth, FYI, everytime I view your blog it hangs my computer up, it is probably my computer but just thought I'd let you know.
