I'm bumping us.

How is everyone's riding going?  It is pretty hot and smokey around here.  Makes my nose burn.  Have a great day!

I second the nomination for Owl to be our captain.

All in favor?

I hope everyone is having a great day. No riding for me, I had to focus on my much-neglected running instead and have a session with a new swim coach tonight. I'll get stage three in by Friday at the latest and will have stage 4 on Saturday. Happy riding everyone!

Also, I agree with the nomination for owl as team captain.

stage 3 is in the books for me. Picked up an extra 5 minutes for good measure. If all goes well in the AM will make up the 25 minutes from the missed stage in the morning. This is questionable since my son is currently curled up in my bed and throwing up. Hope he sleeps well, for him not me. Otherwise  I will try to make up the stage on Friday, but I would love to go swimming on Friday morning. Oh well. will see what happens.

Hey all.  My schedule calls for 77 minutes tomorrow so I'll get at least that in tomorrow morning.  I'll likely push for a 25 miler which for me means about 90 minutes (my goal is in minutes).

Okie dokie!  I'll sink my talons into the group!

Any takers for co-captain?  I do plan on being out of town and away from an internet connection during my race on the 20th.

OK awesome teammates!  Here is the plan.  The first log entry on our forum is from Kat and she listed the dates that she needs info from us.  Make sure you list your progress toward your ultimate goal for each of those time periods.  I will update the spreadsheet for us.

A few of us have time goals and the rest of you have milage goals.  We should be at 1/3 of our respective goals by the end of Monday the 14th.  (Don't worry about the weird day of the week.  Just go with it.)  I don't want to see any slackers that have to catch up!   That's bad training, anyway.

Cheers everyone!  Happy cycling!

I would but I'm racing on the 20th too with no internet access.

I did my second real stage this morning (yesterday doesn't count).  19 miles and 65 minutes.  After a nice long ride this Sunday I'll be looking good for my goals.

I'm racing on the 20th as well, but will be in NYC so I'll have internet access (when I'm not at a bar celebrating my victory). If limited availability that day is ok, I have a lot of free time the rest of the month and would be happy to co-captain. Just let me know!

Thank you Captain Owl, you are doing a great job.

If LM want Co-captain, that sounds good to me!

I wasn't planning it, but I just finished Stage 3, 21.3 miles. My rotator cuff is really hurting so I decided to take a day off from swimming and ride instead. It was a little slow, but I rode up to the swim start of my oly next week and then over to Central Park for the rest. I have two more stages planned this week since I'll be somewhat tapering next week. Go team!

Me: 1/3 swim - 9 bike - 3.1 run Goal: 1:10 and top half of age group M 30-34.

It's my first oly and only second tri so it's really hard to set a goal, but I feel like I need to have something in mind, so here goes:

Race - 1500K swim, 40K bike, 10K run; Goal - 3:30:00 or less (hopefully less)

I believe there are around 3,000 participants so it's impossible to set a ranking goal. I'll just be happy to finish strong and not have my bike breakdown on me. Now that I'm comfortable swimming, that's my new worst nightmare!

Hmm.  Goal for my race.  Well, it's a sprint so I'm pretty much going to go balls to the wall.  Like a friend of mine said today, "you only have to suffer for an hour and a half.  That is well within your capability."

Swim=3/4 mile (downstream in a river) / Bike=12.5 miles / Run=5K / event at 4000 feet elevation (ugh)

Last year I came in 14 of 50 in my age group with 1:35.  Number one finished in 1:20.  I'm going for sub 1:30 and within the top 10 of my age group.
