Only time I run with music is when I'm relegated to the dreadmill. Otherwise I like to hear the sounds around me when I run outside. Way too peaceful to interrupt it with Stone Temple Pilots blaring in my ears.

Dear Team Captains,

This is the first weekend of reporting.  Please email me your results by Sunday.  The earlier the better!!

My email is shawnbarr99@ yahoo.com.

What I need:

·         Each team members name and their miles run from 9/1 to 9/6

It would be a good idea if you PM all your team members today and remind them to post their miles asap and definitely before Saturday night.

Thanks for being a captain!! Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks!!

ps...whew, this community organizer stuff is hard work :-)

Hit the beach this morning and did 6 miles on the sand before my Ocean swim with the Tri Club.

As for music, I perfer to run naked whenever possible. Garmin, Music and even my watch tend to get in the way of truely enjoying my surroundings when I run. But, if/when I do get into the treadie, I usually do listen to music with my iPod.

The problem is I have killed 2 of them already and my 3rd is definitely on it's way out due to the moisture that tends to accumulate when I run inside

MTD: 42 Miles - 16.8%

Planning on another run later this afternoon depending on how my day pans out

Looks like we are all off to a great start

I did another 4 miles this morning. I ended up back on the treadmill because I stepped out and it was still raining! And dark, and cold. But better to get the bad weather over with before the race Sunday.Total miles so far: 16My IMWI activities started today and get progressively earlier each morning so I'm not sure how much I'll get to run, but I will make up for it next week

OHHHHH - Team Captains,

If your team members do NOT have anything posted by Saturday night.  Just send me what they have; even if it is ZERO.

There's no way I or you can wait around for people to post their miles.

Having a big, fat ZERO or forgetting to log miles will be great fodder for Harassment and Trash Talking next week.

Thanks!!

Ps...once I have your numbers and post results on Monday, I will not make adjustment for people who whine, "I forgot to post my miles."  Babies.

Runnin' god has spoken.

Pretty sad that 2 runs got me that. I'd love to run more, but I don't want to risk aggravating my achilles.

Must.

Be.

Patient.

Looks like I'm going to have to end this week with just 16 miles (out of 120). I really wanted to squeeze something in today, but got caught up in Ironman stuff and it just didn't happen. I'm not going to have any time over the next two days either, but I promise I'll step it up when I'm back in New York, especially now that I can actually run again.

Great work everyone on week 1!

Finished out the week with my long run today. Did 20 miles over a course with a net downhill of about 800 Ft and plenty of climbing with some perfect late run hills to get me ready for Boston. (It has a profile very similar)

That gives me 76 miles for the week and the month.

MTD: 76 Miles - 30.4%

Today is a scheduled no run rest day for this kid

I may or may not do a very short recovery run on the trails after work but that will depend on how I am feeling.

I pushed the jogging stroller for 5.1 miles last night.  This was the really the first time we've tried running together.  It was a lot of fun, when she wasn't alerting me to every dog, bird or boat we passed, she was playing the bumpy road soundtrack - ahhhhhhhhhhh, breath, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.  She'll be coming with me on more of my runs now that I know she enjoys it.

That's Awesome

I friend of mine did a 5k pushing a double wide jog stroller and took first place overall. (He ran it in 19:xx) Sure makes for an interesting finish shot. (Both Kids looked so happy)

I did my first outdoor run tonight, 5.7 miles along the lake (still in Madison). It felt unbelievably good to be out there running again.
