snicker. snerk. snort. There's a little post padding.

I should be on the trainer, not on my butt with the laptop in my lap... working on other padding

I dunno. Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras are wayyyyy ahead of Team Post Padding, when it comes to post count. And they're not even trying. (They just keeping talking about Mistress Mila's "motivational techniques," which involve a pink whip named "Janet.".... Hm. So maybe they actually ARE post padding, after all. LOL)

Hi Everyone.

I am Stacie. I see some names I have been on teams with before and quite a few that I haven't. The goals I have for the month are 70 miles run, 9 hours bike and 12 strength sessions. I don't have a tri on the agenda because I am missing a vital part - I don't know how to swim. I am hoping to take lessons as soon as my masters is over (3 weeks and counting).

Right now the big motivation I have is to not be a slacker. I hurt my should in January and was out most of the month - I did the challenges in Feb and March and did well however, I wanted to give my legs a little break and do a strictly walking month after two heavy run months (I have had knee problems in the past and want to keep them in the past). Well a low month turned into numerous low months. I mentioned I needed to start running again aroud the end of June and my neighbor approached and asked if I would help her. So we run 4 days a week in the morning at her level. We started out on July 1 with her barely being able to do .3 miles - she is now running 1.5 miles most days comfortably in 17-18 min.

Our goals (if I can get her to believe in herself) is a dualthon (2/14/2) mid-october and the Komen 5K Oct 4. So we will see if I can get her to do it.

I suck at post padding but I am hoping to learn new tricks from this group.

Stacie

D001 - 2008-08-25 9:35 PM Heh, I see that Blake was here. Sal (Sparco) will be joining your team. If he falls behind on his training, tell him he can't have any cheesecake.

Awesome.  I get that job.

I waited until nightfall and a glass of wine before hopping on the trainer.  Toddlers are not conducive to training.

My 4 week vacation this summer did not help my biking legs.  they are hot.  I mean shot...  I'm working on hot.

I did improve my 5K run time so vacation was not all for not.

I still float, mostly, at 2min/100y.

I bought ingredients for making cheesecake last weekend but have yet to make it... I'm afraid I'll eat it all.

Hi Everyone.   I am Stacie.

Welcome Stacie!  Congrats on the new(ish) training partner.  After a friend joined me for MuddyBuddy in June and loved it, she signed up for a sprint tri Sept 27 with me which is great -- only we both mother toddlers so training together is a impossibility.  The Sept tri is the same course as my June tri and I want to improve my time so I NEED to get my post padding mileage up.

My team is better than your team!

Hey Kristen -

Are you from Iowa? I am curious since I grew up there and I graduated from the red mascot school across the state from your avatar.. I was almost tempted to put up my red mascot but decided to stay with "Mrs PacMan". I was just curious if you are from around Iowa or just root for them. **Note: Hopefully that doesn't sound stalker-ish**

Just a little stalkerish. No, just kidding! I proudly wear the HAWKEYE colors (except for, like, when there's an athletic department scandal or something...).

I'm from Illinois originally, but went to U of Iowa for undergrad. A fantastic 4.5 years.

Go ahead and put up the stinky Cyclones...I'll only stick my tongue out at you for a little bit.

You betcha! I had to teach today, but tomorrow, I will practice. Moderation, though - I wouldn't want to get an over-posting injury before my big Oly.
