34% for the run and 25% for strength - strength will be up to 30% tomorrow. I have it all planned so I can make all my sessions.

van_paulus - 2009-01-09 1:27 PM Back from the run , did the runner world abs workout afterwards . Dang It Side planks are hard !

I saw that workout! Side planks are hard, but I guess I should avoid them no longer! Great job!

Got to break that routine up with some new challenges .

HEY Team.  I just want to say  write that we look and train like champions.  Awesome first nine days and everyone is rocking the new year with great  aplomb.   Get  your rest too . Extra yards means extra winks in the PM .

Cheers and Happy  Friday !

Go Panthers!  I'm a longtime Steeler's fan, but I took Carolina in the pool!

Got my bike ride in this morning along with some core training (yes I did the side planks!) .  Going to hop on the treadmill as soon as the wife gets done with her workout.  I only have a short run today, then a longer run tomorrow!

Nice training team! Got some miles today and supposed to go to a swim clinic tomorrow.  I'm very excited to learn to swim better. Hopefully it won't be cancelled because of snow. Enjoy the rest of your weekends.

8 mile run on the treadmill this morning!  Good thing for the race series this winter or I would never get outside, at least at the races we can run in the middle of the road!   Another 6 or 7 inches of snow last night!

Hola Team Resolution. Got a strenght workout in yesterday. Thought I was going for 5 hours there, but it is only 3 hours, so I'm now at 50% there. YEah, I don't have to push that area so hard for the next three weeks. Got another 1.5 miles in running today ( and that was after 90 minutes of tennis in the freezing cold).

Fingers crossed

Coach Rawlins had us do a hilly 8 today with zero level stuff  all up or down .

Had some fun doing a hard mile downhill at about mile  6 and passed some (usually ) faster runners .  Bone dry  , pretty windy (which i like)  and 55F with a gorgeous  large full moon  setting in the east .

Well CHALLENGERS, the first week is done. Did you challenge yourself? Did you encourage a teammate to do a little more? Did you set your goals just a little bit higher? Did you push yourself - within reason - through the stuff that life throws at us? Keep up the awesome work, everyone. Remember, teams are TEAMS, everyone is in it together, for better or worse!

No standings this week. If you are super curious about percentages, look at the spreadsheets yourself. Every team is working hard, and that's what matters. Some interesting notes, though - three of our four teams have at least one person who has already met 50% of at least one of their goals. Some of these are due to tapers, vacations, etc. toward the end of the month. But if you are already over 40% even, take another look at that goal. Can you do more? One more swim? Ten more miles?

Each of our teams also have at least two 0%s. Again, maybe you knew the pool wouldn't be open, or you needed to wait for a doc appt to see if running was on tap. No problem. But if you just haven't gotten to something yet, get it done. Putting it off will only consume your brain and waste your body. Tired? Sure, we all are. Out of time? Who isn't? But once you bust out that workout, you can check it off your to-do list, and free yourself up for that all important summer race schedule daydreaming!

Push yourself. Push your teammates. Embrace the CHALLENGE!

Finger crossing worked.... I got out of bed, got my morning run in, learned that it wasn't a good idea to run so soon after my long run from yesterday and will adjust that for next week... ALL IS GOOD!

Have a great start in your week everybody!

Just got back from a quick run and a cool down spin on the  gym bike   today .    Swim & hockey on tap for tomorrow.   And 10 mile TT this saturday.  Its called Ben's Ten .

The event is run in 3 waves with 10 mins between them .  You go by estimated completion time . Group 1 is  80 mins and over  , group2  is 70 to 80mins ,  and group 3 is sub 70mins.  Slowest go first so i will be running there and hopefully not get passed too much  in the last miles .  Its flat & all on bike trails so good pavement , no traffic lights and no hills except for short underpasses and slight inclines.
