instead I waited most of the day for my new shoes to be delivered...and they never came!  but I did run a little over 6 miles in the fastest time I have run in some 15 years! so I am finally all smiles again...funny it is late and the sun is shining!

Nice run!  Maybe your old shoes don't want to be replaced!

you may be right! haha

MDHillSlug - 2009-03-05 10:18 AM Great run yesterday! I'm still working on building up my distance.

I'm still working on a run that qualifies as a "distance".  Wink

The last time I ran 5K was 12 years ago.  It's taking a bit longer to work up to that distance than it used to.  I think I need a nice velor jogging suit to go with my flowered swim cap.

well ask and you shall receive!!

choose the color that goes best with those flowers....

incase you want for your dog or stuffed teddy bear:

so..hope that will help you with reaching those distances.

Hehehe...that dog does not look happy!

There is an older (than me) woman who jogs in my neighborhood every Sunday morning.  She always wears her red velor jogging suit.  We could match.

Speaking as the guy on the team, I have to say those velour suits are surprisingly looking pretty good!

I'll do about the same mileage. Was going to ride with my club at 8am, but then I said...hmmm, 41 degrees with the club, or 60's solo.

Finished my 40 mile ride and conquered "Nemesis Hill". Somewhere along the ride I picked up 2 miles beyond what I had mapped. Unfortunately, I've determined that this saddle and shorts combination has about a 35 mile expiration. The last 7 miles were OUCH!

Ok...scratching my head on this one. I calculated my goals based on the time set in my "Be IronFit" Plan. This week the swim workouts go from 2500y to 3000y, yet, the time allotted to each workout remains steady at 1 hour. Huh? Miscalculation? Or do they expect me to become superhuman starting this week?

Anyway, did my first 3000 workout this morning. Furthest I've ever swam. Took me 1:14. Coincidentally, my pool has started opening up the pool 15 mins earlier - makes up for that extra time.

Clearly you should be super-human by now and flying across the water.

Nice swim!

Julee, you haven't put your totals onto the spreadsheet.

I'd love to ride with you. The fact that we're 3000 miles apart does complicate it.

Well, I did my first run back in the dark since DST and maybe I shouldn't have run at all. First my Garmin decided not to work and then I rolled my left ankle. It's not "doctor bad" but enough that I can feel it and will probably skip my next run if it doesn't feel great. I may need to seek an injury adjustment; we shall see.

Amanda,

Since you are running this challenge, can I reduce my goal due to injury? I'd like to drop out one run.

Thanks, Nicole

3000 meter swims, 80 miles on the bike.  You are all putting me to shame.  I will get there, eventually!

Nicole, I hope the injury is just a minor setback.  Take care of it.

Today was a rest day.  I needed it.
