The morning will be quite for me, then it gets busier as the day progresses, maybe a bike ride a bit later, it will be in the low 80's here today.

I will probably miss my swim class later today due to work stuff. But my coach is real easy about making up sessions, so I can probably get some time with her on Friday. Laughing

Swimmingly good toppage!

I have a bike question for folks- especially for anyone who does over 40 milers. I can typically do 25-30 or so miles in a trip, I don't really call that a long ride, it's my regular training ride. I get in one short off the bike break, usually to pee and also just stretch, maybe munch on a treat. I typically get my nutrition and hydrate while riding.

When y'all get into longer rides, how often do you stop? I see people talking about 50 milers + and wonder are folks stopping once, twice, getting lunch? Are they quick stops, long rests?

So I am curious what is a long day ride is for you and how do you handle food, and how often do you stop (rests, breaks, to use the john?)

I want to start doing some longer rides when my school schedule clears up and just was wondering what folks did.

Thanks for all the good thoughts all. I am doing pretty good today, despite my face being swollen. The DH said I look like a Shar-pei!

No experience here. Wehn I lived in a flatter place I did long rides. Here I am lucky to get 15 in on the road. I know, WIMPY.

It depends but I would say that I usually stop once or twice for a 55-60 miles ride. Normally to pee, and latelly with the tri bike I like to stretch my neck a bit.
