skrtrnr - 2009-10-20 10:32 AM i get to post on the first page of the new thread.  HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE.

got out for my MUCH anticipated 12 miler!  YAHOOEY.

i was running at great clip felt maaaaahhhhhvelous.  up until the last bit, and i kept looking at my watch, and i wasnt at the end, and im thinking somethings off....

i rearranged my route today so that i could stick closer to home w my son being home and all...and based on the 'data' that collected yesturday (my 45 min drive ACK!!!) i thought i had a 6 mile out and back route mapped out....

i get home, plug the info into my blog and the pace was WAY off, SUCKISHLY slow.

i didnt feel suckishly slow, until i hit the part in the run where i started thinking this taking too damn long.

sure enough, i OVER RAN MY RUN TODAY BY ALMOST AN ENTIRE MILE.  eight 10ths be exact.

boo for me, though now im good and ready for my 1/2...but YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY FOR THE GHOULIES.

i just updated the spreadsheet and im at 69 something something percent, even w two more runs to do this week -including a 10 miler on Saturday.

WELL SCHAAZAM.

ill surely 'suffer' for the team, SUCK IT UP and run an extra 8 10ths.  LOL.

stacie.

ps.  thanks for all the well wishes for my son.  his fever broke, i bought him a Mt. Dew which he promptly downed, hes feeling MUCH better.    Mt. Dew.  the magic elixir.

good job...did you run a different route? and where is that garmin?

soon you will be a half marathon mom! kiu!!!

sorry the midget is sick...is this round two? or did this one not catch it the first round!??

i did run a different route than what i planned out, well part of the route i planned out.  my oldest son was home sick, so i wanted to stick closer to home, so instead of doing the 12 mile loop that i orginally planned to do, i just did a 6 mile out and back...at least i thought it was a 6 mile out and back.

turns out it was 6.4 mile out and back.  LOL.

yay.  and where the hell is that GARMIN.  Damn Claus.  late as usual.  pffft.

1/2 marathon mom has a very nice ring to it!

as for the midget, first round w the oldest.  he dodged the bullet the first round, somehow.

but then went down last night cough fever.  same symptoms, different day.

3/5 have had it so far.

ive been sick once this season so im hoping to avoid this new round altogether.

im bettin' my DH gets it next.  and he's a BIG HUGE BABY when he's sick WAY worse than the kids are......

just so he's not sick on Nov 1st/on my 1/2 Mary day....im just sayin'

Can I aquajog for this challenge?  I just had a brainstorm!

How many miles do you have to go yet? Would you really want to aquajog that? UG!

I did sessions so I could get away with it.  But I hear you and I want to keep my running going as much as possible.

BILL.  its boring as hell, or at least i found it be, but i did pool running when i was out for three weeks w my foot injury.

it was a really good thing, that once i got back to running again the transition went easier.

plus the water is very therapeutic...

we have a warm water/therapeutic pool at our Y and i had to do warm water soaks on my foot daily anyway, killed two birds w one stone.  LOL

HAPPY AQUAJOGGING!
stacieb

there was a girl who had floaties on..she would run in the deep end where her feet would not touch...when I asked she was also injured and this was the most therapeutic for her! just a thought...then there is no pounding even if it is in the water!

I say do it if you can! thats just my measly opinion, though!

Wow - what an honor to open the 3rd thread.  What a great cheerleader I have turned out to be

so Bill...I missed what the doctor said in all this silliness this morning! soooo what is the verdict from your chiro???

I believe you called it - ITB and bad.  4-6 weeks off of running.  Can still ride but no cross because of the dismounts, running, jumping, and remounts.

Got the foam roller last night and have been working it already and it hurts like a mother in case I have not mentioned it yet today (which I have about 4-5 different times already )

I did not think it was ITB because it never hurt my knee and that is what I have always heard about ITB.  But now I know and now I rest - bleck!

when its all the way down in the knee, you've got a severe case of ITBs....at least thats what my chiro said.

i asked the same question, since my ITB has been cranky going on two weeks, and im only feeling it in my hip...and my glute....and my back.

man i need to get off the road, running.

tearin' me up something fierce.

stacieb

that is why I prefer to run dirt trails or next to the path on the dirt. I would run around the track but that is SUPER monotonous tome! I would rather jump off a bridge! not the ones by you though Tom...so your safe!

Just posted some smack talk teammies.  As the cheerleader I feel it is important to let all the other teams know they are 2nd to us by a long shot!

Keep up the great running!

]

dare we ask what you said and to who??? or do we want to know!??

It was to all the teams individually with some creative talk involved about flushing one down the toilet, throwing the pumpkins out to the field, and running down the runners.

Told them all to keep running so our disposal of them will be easier with their weight loss they should be experiencing.

wow! you are quite the silver tongue when it comes to trash talking....

carry on my friend....carry on!

Jules - I use the 3 year for my wife's stuff.  My clothes are always getting thrown out (or handed down).  I really don't have any clutter except workout gear and that is all neatly stored in many different locations depending on time of the year!

as long as you are using the 3 year on her clothing and not the wife, too!

my husband is the first to throw things out now! I love it! every so often he will make a dump run...these are becoming further and further apart as we are finally getting down to the basics! and ahhhhhhhhhhhh it feels great! I truly do not find myself cleaning much and it always looks soo sparkly clean! lovin it!

Nope - past that point a long time ago

For my safety I don't touch her clothing except for certain reasons

smart man you are!!!

so you do her laundry...thats surely what you mean when you say...you only touch her clothing for certain reasons...to launder them right!?!?

or would it be sexually related!??

Stacie,

So did your leg feel pain or more like it was numb in the beginning stage.  I remember walking the county fair about 3 or 4 summers ago and having to stop and sit down for the pain to subside.  It was always worst when my bladder was fuller for some strange reason also.

As mine progressed it came to the point where lifting my leg to stretch hurt like a ???????.  Once I stretched it out it felt a little better but still sore.  The other day it just plain hurt worst than any pain I have ever had (except when my ACL went - that was fun!).

The more I think about it the more I hope it is only 4-6 weeks.  Hopefully cross country skiing is not impacted and I can continue snowshoe running this winter also.

BILL.  definately pain not numbness.  but not piercing pain.  more dull.  it feels like theres a lot muscle tightness/tension in that area too.  i keep saying im in DESPERATE need of a really good deep tissue/sports massage....or ART.

as for my pain, sometimes its very localized right in my hip area, but sometimes it feels like it radiates out into my glute and even into my lower back or down the right side of my leg, but never down as far as my knee.....

ive been feeling the discomfort more when im spinning than running and not as much on my own bike, which is good...i think the 'fit' is just better on my own bike.

that run last week on the trail really helped/gave it a break....

theres a couple  'structural' issues going on w me, and my right hip that is contributing to it too.

my pelvic bone is tilted forward and my right hip is higher than my left....when im not recently adjusted.

in other words, i'd be all CROOKED.  :}

just call me the cock-eyed lil triathlete.  LOL.

does that help?  its amazing to think that were talking the same region of the anatomy, but the way you present and the way i present is different.

goes to show were UNIQUE.

I do the laundry when it is required when I get home from work or most weekends.  I just don't like folding.  I will wash and dry all day long - just leave the folding for others (except my stuff because they don't fold it right )

sexually child rearing related?? Jules this is a kid safe zone isn't it

I'm actually hoping it's both!

way to be on the womans side, Ann~ I too hope she is getting clean clothes and lots of satisfaction along the way!
