Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Just rode the course today, did the full IM loop so a little longer. Finished 60 Miles in 3:12. Areas of the course are really fast!!!, No giant climbs, but the gradual climbs in the course can ware on you. This was my first half distance ride, so very happy with the 18+ ave. |

Member ![]() ![]() | ![]() This will be my first HIM. I started triathlon last year. I am excited but I am finding training properly for this event difficult. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I went down to the Cleveland Tri Club's Rev3 training day Saturday. Great fun. I posted my .02 about it in the Michigan forum here for anyone who wasn't there or is going to head over on the 21st of August. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had a GREAT time yesterday!! Thank you to Cleveland tri club and Rev3 for putting this on!! Definitely helped me a lot! I wrote a full blown report in my training log. Feel free to read up! For those of you who couldn't make it yesterday, there will be another opportunity 8/21. Check out Cleveland tri club's website for details. Also, it was nice to meet so many nice people yesterday! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey, maybe this info was posted on the website somewhere, but I wanted to know more about the refreshments on course besides the CeraSport. Todd Gollnick himself e-mailed me within hours of my inquiry. I got a follow up e-mail from another Rev3 staff person this morning. These folks are awesome!!

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ok - plans may change at the last minute... So a very big family event JUST got switched to Saturday 9/11. Let's call it a mandatory event. I have a couple key details that I have to iron out, real quick-like. Any chance that someone has a spare place next to their bed for a last minute traveler? I'll be flying solo and it'd be a huge money saver to split a room with someone (or someones). I will be seriously pushing the limit on getting to PPU by 7pm. So I emailed Rev3 and got a quick response back stating that they plan to hold PPU open a bit late for the stragglers like me. And of course, no one can get my PPU for me, as per USAT rules. So I'm weighing my options about haulin' to get to Sandusky from Muskegon, MI by 7 and make PPU. It's about a 5 hour drive, and I'd have to leave NO later than 2pm. Wow... just sayin! Anyone else *plan* to be late? |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am refereeing a high school soccer tourney on Sat am. Have a game at 8 and 10. Puts me in the car by 12 for the 3.5-4 hour drive. Not late, but stressful enough.. |
![]() ![]() |
Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No worries guys, I'll be working PPU and timing - we'll be there as long as you're not pulling in at 9pm! I had to do some emergency ppu's on race morning @ REV3 Quassy : ) Bottom line is we want you there to race and we'll help in any *reasonable* way!! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() For those that are interested in signing up for a TRAKKERS device they are available on a first come first served basis. You can sign up in advance here https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHpCVU13NUg1RXNQejNxQlV2RE8xd1E6MA I'm not sure how many devices are available and they are FREE for the REV3 (and the Half Full tri).

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Anyone else using the Trakkers? I think I might go for it if it is free. Do you have to wear a heart rate strap or anything along with it? |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I just sent a note over to Rev3 about the revised time limits that were posted since I registered. It lists a 4:00 bike time limit. I'm not a great biker, and it's been so windy on the course, I wad worried that if I'd get a flat tire it would be enough to get me kicked off the course. He said they won't be super strict with the half because the course is open later for the full participants.I'm sure 99% of you are fast enough not to care about any of the cut off times, but I feel better. I was never worried about the swim, the run, or the eight hour limit, but the four hour bike limit didn't give me very much wiggle room for error. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() You can use a h.r strap, but don't have to. It's a small device (palm sized) that you clip on. I got to use one for Knoxville and it's really cool! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I read somewhere that the 1/2 will start at 8:30 am. Does anyone know if the half transition area is seperate and possibly close later or do we have to have everything in before transition closes for the full. If this is the case our only option is to sit around for an hour and half then??? Sounds like a long time to wait. Anyone have any info on this?? |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I would say that the events start together, at 7am. Hmmmm. Do you know where you read that the half had a 8:30am start time? You could also email the RD: [email protected] Here is a link to the website where I got this information: http://www.rev3tri.com/!/cedarPoint/raceInfo/triathlon-schedule.htm Edited by nuttysami123 2010-08-10 8:55 AM |

Do you know where you read that the half had a 8:30am start time? I saw you received a answer to the question on FB. I wish the website would get updated since they are posting these things on the forums and FB! I think it would help everyone. Sitting around for two hours if transition is closed at 6:30 changes nutrition and some other variables for me pre race! |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I saw on facebook it said it would cost $39.99 to get into the park to see the finish. I saw the post and now it is gone. Does anyone know anything about this? The communication seems misleading if we were told we got two tickets to the park and now that is only for Saturday and not for folks to actually watch the finish on sunday. |

Sitting around for two hours if transition is closed at 6:30 changes nutrition and some other variables for me pre race! I'm really glad you pointed this out and we got it clarified!! Yeah, big difference between an 8:30am start time and a 7am start time. For those of you in the dark.. if you're on Facebook, you can "like" Rev3 Triathlon. Seems that the information on there is way more up-to-date than the official Rev3 website. Eric, the RD, has confirmed that the half rev will have a start time of 8:30am as opposed to 7am- which is what the website eludes to. He did say that the website will be updated in the next couple of weeks. Hope this information helps! |

Does anyone know anything about this? The communication seems misleading if we were told we got two tickets to the park and now that is only for Saturday and not for folks to actually watch the finish on sunday. According to the Cedar Point website, we can't even get INTO the park on Saturday -- it is closed. Someone on the facebook page said it was closed because the Honda employees have reserved it. So I ASSUME since the only day the park is actually OPEN is Sunday, that means our two tickets are good on Sunday. The park is open Sunday from 12pm - 8pm, according to the website. |

New user![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think it may be a case of mis-informed Cedar Point employee's. Rev3 athletes and their support crews WILL have access to the park on Saturday as well. Your two tickets can be used the weekend of the race or on another weekend after the race, as long as they are used for this season at Cedar Point. Additionally, the park will be open on Friday night from 6-9 pm for Rev3 only. They will be running select rides (like the big coasters!) and select kid rides. The biggest benefit here is that you will have no lines at all!! We will update our web site today with a FAQ section that will address these questions. Sorry for all of the confusion and mis information. Charlie www.rev3tri.com |

I wasn't aware of the revised times till I checked their site today. I admit it, I'm doing this just for fun and anticipate 4 hours myself for the bike. I do believe that it is all timed from the last swim wave which, if they let the granny group go first -- which i hope, then I'll be OK ;-) I sort of was in that category, figuring since the full was going on, I'd be OK time wise...... |

Just got an email regarding this to guage finish time. I asked about swim wave starts and AG wave starts. This is the reply I received today, the 12th: "6:50: Full rev starts 8:30am: Half rev starts" So I'm guessing I probably won't be swimming until maybe 9:00 -- kinda disappointed would have liked a teeny bit earlier....but oh well. Mostly b/c I'd like to be on my bike before those evil winds over the farmlands of Ohio kick in..... Edited by travljini 2010-08-12 12:56 PM |
