I venture out frequently, mostly to read about things that interest me. I'm nearly a lurker in Tri Talk and the other forums because I don't have a lot to offer yet. My areas of expertise are comebacks and I know a thing or two about riding, so if I have something of value to offer there, I do.

That being said, I have always received knowledgeable advice from people here when I have asked serious questions. And, I did not get snotty remarks, which I have seen much more on The-Forum-Which-Shall-Remain-Nameless. I like that this site remembers the Beginner part of it's name, and that, in my experience, the people here remember that we were all once a Beginner Triathlete.
